I have a WSM wear ring and I do like it for racing, as I can change the ring out for a new one and the clearances are super tight again. But as people have mentioned before, they wear out very easy if you are playin with alot of sand in the water. You gotta be diligent about flushing your pump...

I was thinking the timing might be off b.c the stator was replaced but it runs for a while before it sheers the key... the mating surface on the flywheel to the crank maybe bad and causing the flywheel to loosen up and sheer it.
