Very jealous of your surf. The way the nose is repaired and the factory nose piece, it seriously looks like a bottle nosed dolphin.
Have you considered the lowered nose piece that still works with the factory hood?
Skippy???
I didn't start this thread because I know everything. Otherwise... I wouldn't have started the thread, would I?
Unfortunately I don't speak German, or understand his translation even though he's trying. I'd really like to be able to, cause the stuff he's making is basically...
I know my tray is stupid thick. I know my foam is wet.
I know it feels physically heavy. Like redonkulous...
Like I said, my scale could be screwy. Only thing I can do is hang off of it and then check my weight off a bathroom scale. But 160 isn't 315, so who knows what I would learn from...
So the weather has changed pretty drastically here, and last night I couldn't sleep from all the garbage draining from my nose into my throat.
I get up at 12:30 or something to find some meds and i sat on the couch for awhile until they kicked in.
"Hey, lets see if anyone has posted in my...
A local guy and fellow X-er is up that way helping get peoples generators working via his job.
Really feeling for ya'll up there. Makes me want to keep prepping even more than I have been.
This is Classy stuff. I have huge respect for anyone who's made their way to the top but is super humble once they get there. Recognizing that you're successful but in no way became successful on your own in the same breath is a skill more pros (in every sport) should learn.
Congrats Zack,
I want to add a disclaimer. The weight I'm claiming is the weight shown on the scale. It's a brand new scale, and it maxes out at 550lbs. So I suppose my number could be off. As some of you may remember I weighed the hull when I got the hull it weighed 160lbs after being out of the water for...
Man I hate to start a thread to find another one.
Anyone else remember a video on here of a little kid doing stunts on a little bike without pedals? They're called balance bikes or strider bikes. The video was really awesome, I think the kids dad was a motocross or BMX guy or something.
My...
Still no winners. Got a close guess though. This is making me chuckle much more than I thought, ya'll are awesome!
If we don't have a winner by tomorrow night ill announce the winner.
Ok I'm working with a local supplier on this stuff.
Learned an interesting stat, not sure if its true. 1 sq/ft x 1/8" thick of material, wet layup by hand CAN weigh 10lbs.
And vacuum bagging that same layup might save 2-3lbs. Nothing I'm doing will be that thick. Well maybe my tray. So we'll...
Ok... Updates!
Weighed the ski. Before I post up the results, lets take a poll on what everyone thinks it weighs. If someone guesses within 5lbs, they get a prize shipped to their door. Fo'serious.
There was about a gallon of fuel in the tank, before anyone gets all crazy.
Heres a pic of...
I have a airbrush pump I'm not using (I use shop air) so if that will work, that would be cool. Buddy of mine has a vacuum pump for AC work that he's not using. Said its pretty beefy.
My personal goals are related to reinforcement. I want to bag the layers of carbon and Kevlar onto the sides...
Thats a sick bike man, sucks that you crashed.
I've had the good sense to know I'm not mature enough to own a bike. I want one, pretty much just like yours LOL... but maybe when i'm like 50 or something and my kids are grown.
I think there is a lot of good advice in here. Especially the track...
That's pretty damn funny....
In mother Russia, we name yetski build, "projeckt sputnik"
But seriously, i'm in total support of this build.
Is your entire ski based on a Superjet or just the hood?
I've read some info on the X pertaining to this. I know Waternut used vacuum bagging to lay up his hull.
Since we have the Composites section now, I thought this would be a good place to consolidate info for this technique.
If anyone has experience with this, please post up your suggestions...
