WFO, i'm not worried about the chop, but what to do with the rear most ride plate threaded holes etc.
I think i'll put them where a SN middle hole would be, that way I can continue to use (and future owners can use) standardized ride plates.

So i'm getting cold feet about shortening the rear. What does the rest of the world do about the rear ride plate mounts?
My only idea is I add mounts into the hull where the MIDDLE holes are on a SN ride plate (which is what I have now) and then if I need a new or different plate I can chop it...

Rode today as planned. Had big fun. 73 degrees, water was almost glass, no wind, sunny. Even had a few good boats!
Did good and added stabil to the remaining fuel before I packed it up and fogged the motor when I got home. Gotta protect my ridiculous investment.
