1st ski suggestsions or recomendations?

Finally he is starting to come around. You won't be sorry if you stick with a Superjet.
The 650 SN isn't bad. It has a great hull and rides good. The power isn't the best, but you can always convert it to a 701 cylinder a couple years from now when you need more power.
I have seen 650 SN on Craigslist here in Grand Rapids for $900 to $1,200 in the last month. It's not too bad of a drive up here for you.
Ideally, find a 650 for $800 to $900 for the spare ski and find yourself a 701 for a little more.

ya i was in the this same boat last year.. debating on whether to get a kaw 650 sx... and came here asking questions..

i think it was SFL that said, dont be stupid, just get a superjet 20 times over...

Needless to say i found a RN superjet within 2 months, and have loved it.. and I spent more to get it, but i do believe it was well worth it !

thats a fx-1... its hard to get those and are pretty desirable from what i hear..

though, it doesnt really say what needs to be done, you might be able to throw a running engine in there, if you up for that.

i dont know the specs for the fx-1 (engine etc) one of the other peeps in here will chime in soon enough..

amlost anyone that rides ones, loves them though..

the price isnt too bad, if your just considerin it for a hull thouugh im not sure what it will cost to drop a new engine in there..

a 650 sx isnt that bad of a place to start. just dont spend to much money on it or you will have to part it out to get most of your money back then your stuck with a hull. im in that situation now. its definately better than sitting on the bank watching your buddies ride by. if you can keep it cheap, you can always ebay it and make a little money. im the odd ball that dont think its no bigger of a turd than a 650 sn jet. the square is easier to upgrade and will bring more cash when your ready to sell for a rn jet because thats what you will probally end up riding when its all said and done.

i imagine i can get him lower price wise, he says it need to be rebuilt. a 701 complete rebuild is like $600...but there is probably more things needed.
