SX/SXi/SXi Pro 2000 sxi pro intake manifold mod??

hello
i have read on the internet that some owners of the sxi pros plug the hole in the intake manifold that connects the 2 ports and they say that is gives it more bottom end just wondering if anyone has more info on that

Kawi put that crossover there to INCREASE bottom end/ throttle response. Leave it alone.

^ My R&D intake doesnt have one but I did have a stock backup mani ported, the crossover is there (like jetman624 said) so that the fuel/air ratio going in is more equal and better distributed..
