So as I am turrning 40 next year, would I be considered a misfit in this crowd? I am seriously thinking about spending a week in that area (minus my wife and daughter), what do you guys think?

Don't sweat it at all (you would not be a misfit).. plenty of riders of all ages on the X and at Daytona. You can party as much or as little as you want.

I have a buddy who rides and is 70! Most of my riding buddies are in their 40s. I'm 31. So my group is 20s to 70s. Having older and wiser buddies is one of the best things you can have in life. They have been there and done that. Helps you not make so many mistakes.

average temp is around 65F-70F during the hottest part of the day, so it could be 55F in the morn at it's coldest or 65F at it's warmest
