Is this place that has sites for tent camping only or can you take a toy hauler/rv? Where is it or what is it called?

Thanks Dre

We brought our (currently 17 month old) to the last 2 rides. Just camp a little closer in, and you should be fine. There were quite a few families there.

A word of advice, bring a poop bucket, and a solar shower!

its a north carolina state park...i camped there once...they have places for rv's....search it on google....

Yeah.....in NC State parks there is no electric and no generators allowed past 10 pm. We left and parked at Wally world to run the AC. It was miserable in the summer. The spring/fall rides may be more tolerable. We opted for a hotel last time that was 5-10 minutes away.

Last spring during the day it was in the low 80's for the high. Very comfortable low to mid 60's for the low for camping!

Is this a "family" event? It would be fun to bring the kids and camp on the beach. Mine are 8 and 6. Who else is bringing kids?

If I can swing it I'll be bringing the chrins as well . When we get a little closer lets get a head count for the Families ....... and set up near each other .

The action is next to the water , if you want remote privacy set up by the dunes ,there are 100's, of kids up and down the beach , No reason to leave the kids at home ...... give them something to remember !

so i think me, the wife and 2 other friends are going to make this trip! the only way to get all the skis there tho is to trailer them. what's the best idea on where to put the empty trailer for the weekend? is there a parking lot or anything we can leave it in?

I parked at the ramp and had Wilkey pick me up. See if a buddy will do the trip for you, its a decent drive so gas money is helpful to the guy who owns the 4x4.

The trailer parking has been a recurring issue in the past 2 events for those who cannot hitch haul or truckbed all of their skis.

We are still trying to iron out more solutions but as of now my property 30 mins away and a fellow freeriders property 10 minutes away have been the only surefire solution for trailer storage so far.

Will keep those with this issue updated on further solutions we come up with. Feel free to text or call my cell # listed. Scott.

Confirmed, I'll be there Thursday mid morning.

Who own's the boat ramp property at Annie Dr? It sure would be nice if we all could pitch in and get a permit to leave trailers there for a "special event".

as a backup, there is also a couple empty lots on Spencer Farlow Dr which would be nice if we could somehow find out whom owns that land...

we left the truck and trailer at snowscut for the entire weekend.. my friend with a 4x4 suburban met us at the boat ramp and hauled all of the gear in his truck and met us at the beach.. theres tons of parking spaces there.. i dont think its a big deal as long as theres a trailer attached

Poop bucket. Ugh. Got any specific advice on that?

1. Bring bucket - preferably large enough to hold an adult dump, along with providing adequate support for sitting while taking dump : 5 gallon home depot buckets are a good option.

2. Bring bucket liner - Walmart bag or large trash bag, preferably black so we don't have to see your dump being carried to the trash can

3. Bring toilet paper - you know what to do

EDIT : dump bucket must be used inside a tent (preferably your own tent) to avoid issues with local police.

4. Enjoy NC free ride without feeling backed up.

There are porta potties 100 yards away from the camp site. Although they aren't exactly of high quality nor super sanitary.

True, I believe the porta potty conditions at the spring ride prompted the dump bucket at the fall ride.
