Starting this build bassackwards:D
Since my fx1 project is dragging on all summer because it’s too dam hot to be sanding fiberglass, several home projects going on,l bought this foot rocket to get my butt out on the water. But really going to make an attempt to finish the fx by SFF if at all possible.

I bought a 2013 foot rocket that came from Australia before krash moved to Thailand: https://www.x-h2o.com/threads/rocket-build.131048/
Referring back to this old thread, this hull is getting the same power plant and pump setup as before.Just gets a RRP pole set up instead of an XS.lf l keep it,this winter the turf will get redone with some other changes in store.

So going backwards, here is the ski getting ready to head towards the lake.

Well.... did it work??
Yes,Hornedogg and l rode all afternoon! Loose hose clamp from end of bpipe to w/box at the beginning of our ride and had to turn around and go back, but Jon got a screw driver and it was quickly fixed.Ski is running great, just need to make a few adjustments. So good to be back on the water! Missed it.
The lake is at full pool now,so we have our lake back again.7 friggin’ years...

The pole is great @brapperdoodle thank you

So here is the finished handle pole and assembly. Thanks out to @TOBY for the the h/p carbon cover.Great work. All l did was throw some smooth turf on it and drill a couple holes.
As far as assembly, pretty simple other than trying to push the pole bolt through it with the vacuum hoses.Figured that out fairly quick.
I had a Cold Fusion steering plate and bars,so l used them. The hole where the steering bolt goes thru is just a touch larger.Has just a little bit of movement, but working on a thick washer to fix that.

Bilge and midshaft assembly.
Really like how and where the other owner placed the pumps and routed the drain lines. The rubber exhaust hose actually goes in between the drain lines and aluminum exhaust tube.
l was also impressed with the ebox bracket someone crafted that mounts to the front foothold. You just mount the ends of the the ebox to it.Since l’m running a zeel ignition the far right stud is where l mounted the switch for two curves.lt also has a place to mount a ground from the engine.Quite ingenious
l also bought some s/s mesh and laid it over the front of the drain “tube” for the scupper.Keeps all those nasty little pieces from getting lodged in the drain and ball area.Just a dab of 5200 over the screen edges and done.

Those Astrovans though!
Own two of them now,the one you see in the pic is the toy hauler. The other one is a cargo van and is used for work. They all have the same issues, transmission, transfer case, and a whine in the rear end. Both vans have had their tranny rebuilt.
This one l got about a year ago.lt will fit 2 skis and your stuff.Still setting it up after fixing all the issues.Just recently it had rear end bearing noise. That was rebuilt and a front hub was replaced. She is quiet except for the inherent Chevrolet whine.Awd and 24.6 mpg.4.3 liter engine. Now l finally get to do my appearance package to her.

Still heading back in time, you see where l cleaned it.Got all that done and started removing all the hardware.None of which had any anti seize or marine grease added in the beginning. Most everything came out fairly easy, but the where the footholds were bolted to the plates, that was a 2 hour pita.l had to remove the plates from the tract and then try to remove the holds from plates.Heat, letting them soak over night in Kroil didn’t work.Ended up grinding the heads off the two bolts and then put them in a vise and a torch to finally free them.So advise wise if you are new to the sport, grease the chit up or use anti-seize when installing.
The last couple pics were bring her home with original colors and then peeling the contrasting pinstripes off.

So this ends this thread for now and l have something to ride for the rest of the year or until l find another ski (superfreak;)). And allows me to finish the fx1 project.

Really well Brappy! l can move it around in the air like my last foot rocket. But l am so rusty from not riding much this past year.Need some time behind the h/pole.And also need to feel more comfortable with myself.l have hesitated and held back since rotator cuff surgery a few years back.Lost a whole year of riding.
