Custom/Hybrid Anyone cut up a Rickter?

The goal is to add flipping to the 20 or so other tricks I like to do. Freestyle has gotten to the point where you kind of have to flip, but of course most of my money is blown on junk like food, shelter, taxes, 2 kids, and a wife, so here I am throwing ideas around and trying to pick the best option. I'm nervous about some bf hulls because I never see even the pros doing other stuff. I think my choices are more motor or different hull; no cutting.

I agree with Turbo........ Cut, Value goes to nothing.......... Thrust Trims System and more motor............ Personally, flipping does not do much for me, dont know, I prefer Rolls................. Anybody with a short hull and enough motor can flip......... You rarely see people rolling.......

no matter how much you hack off, its still going to weigh too much to flat water flip with the drive train you are currently running.
SO NOT TRUE! people flatwater backflip superjets with just your average freestyle mods, factory pipe, high comp head, msd ignition, and carbs, and filters..

lol u need air filters for a factory pipe otherwise all the power is lost because u wont get enough air. and if ur hull is shorter theres less leverage on the ski to keep the front down.. ik its a carbon hull, so is the FS1!!! thats exactly my point.

That video is old, already hashed out...... Do you know what kind of air filters XScream Riders use to use before they came out with their Billet Motors, when they were still running sub 900cc motors....... Guess, OEM Single 44 flame arrestors on dual 46sbn. They are not Filters...... Just because a hull is carbon, does not mean its light.

There are not many that can flat water flip a Stock Hull SUPERJET with just basic mods...... especially not get as far around as that guy. Jeremy Parr use to nose his in with OEM hull, ported, carbs, Factory B Pipe... The nose would go in, not land almost flat, there is a long way from Flat water landing a flip to just nosing them in...........

I will just consider youre ignorance as being new to the sport. Like BK said, xscream used to run stock modified filters on their engines. Im wiling to bet there are guys running stock modified filters with a pfp. Just saying.

The OP has a fiberglass FS1. Weight is probably around 80-100 if he has a freestyle layup which is exactly similar to a stock superjet hull.

g-ski is a shredder! He needs a hybrid hull that maintains purpose as a medium of expression of the inner beast in those waves (when we get them) but be able to show off his talents when all we have is 1 foot chop and the odd sea ray cruising by (without taking them to south beach).

Thanks mthomps, your ramblings are typically somewhere between genius and madness! I didn't realize this post had gone on after I decided against cutting. I will probably end up with a shorter hull and adapt my flatwater tricks to whatever that hull will allow me to do. As far as BF's go; I think that has been beaten to death on other posts. I'll continue to try with big waves and when I start nailing them I'll try on smaller and smaller waves. Then when I can't get them anymore I can blame the ski!

lol. Thanks man. So what hull are you thinking? Different rickter?

We should force smittysx to let us all cut on one of his sn hulls as a team building exercise! o_O

definetly not new to the sport, but yes i am new to aftermarket hulls.

they are flame arrestors not air filters it ain't filtering anything you don't really need them other than stopping water and blow-backs

Ive seen a few of your posts and this quote always pops in my mind

" keep silent and let people think your a idiot, rather than speaking(or in your case typing) and proving them right"

Guys nobody mention that the pump on xfr is 6" set back then the fs-1 and the intake grate is also set back to stay in the water longer to help the back flip !! By the way i own both and my

i was thinking this while reading this thread haha... if it was a sj hull then by all means cut it up.. but an aftermarket hull... what the heck for?? its already purpose built and costs much more than any stock hull.. dont try to reinvent the wheel just to backflip.. im sure you wont have any issues selling the fs1 hull and getting a backfiip hull..
