IMO if you got one 44mm carb just buy another and send them to Art. He said his 44 outflow regular 46. I sent my dual 46 Mikunis to him last week. Price $170 each to modify.

My Full Specs worked very well
My Novi single 48 worked very well
My BlackJacks are freegin amazing !!!

And the crazy part is the BlackJacks were waaaay cheaper than the Full Specs and the same price as 1 Novi 48.

I have the Speedmagic Chopper 48mm carbs, basically 24-hole BJ's. Have found the reccommended jetting for Arts 44's to work well in them
P=130
M=115
PopOff=25psi

I love my dual BrapJack 44's. I'm currently have them on a DASA Lamey cylinder @ 85.50mm flat tops with TL, and all the goodies..

As someone mentioned above and I agree, they are one of the best bangs for the buck just like the B pipe and total loss ignition.

Ive posted this in the past but wanted to mention that Art has told me that he can make BrapJacks from OEM Mikunis as well as aftermarket Mikunis. Also he said he could make them from aftermarket race carbs like Buckshots..

That used set I was looking at was a set of 46's. Art was telling me that the 46's are really for more of a racing set up than a freeride set up. I told art mostly what i do is just play in the surf and he said the 44's work better for instant response. From what I was told the 44's will be perfect for any set up I would run.
Call art and discuss your options, you will be better hearing it straight from him then us.

What Art was saying is that anytime you're on the line between a bigger and smaller carb set, the smaller carbs will almost always be a bit easier tuning and more forgiving. Like Matt said, it takes a good bit of motor to NEED 46's or 48's.

Same thing Art told me and thats why I have the 46s on my motor and could not be happier! If people would only listen to what Art tells them and not second guess his abilities!!!

yeah that's why people are selling them and passing them off to someone else. maybe if your a carb guru you can get them to work but i can't.

Yea if I were you I would just list them up for sale over there and then just get a set of new blackjacks. I got my motor down there right now. He is going to build me a 84mm big bore 4mm stroker and then he is setting it up with 44 blackjacks. I cant wait till that thing is done.

Here it is from Art himself:

The 44mm Blackjack will flow more air than the unmodified 46 Mikunis. If you are not dealing with very big engines and not using total loss and race fuel compression then I question the need to go bigger than the 44's. For freestyle the 44's are more forgiving than the 46's when you don't have the big ccs, compression or building a full-on radical engine. If you had a properly set up normal big bore and your main concern was bottom end response then the advantage of the 46's would only be at midrange and higher rpms and you might not need that depending on your riding style.
If I build an engine that is say for example an 85 mm stock stroke engine and the customer wants the best bottom end possible with no concern about top speed I would do the 44 Blackjacks. You must remember that just because it is a 44 mm does not mean that it is not a high flowing set up. The difference between a set of stock 44's and a set of Blackjack 44's is night and day. This becomes more apparent the more modified the engine is. We do build engines using our 48.3 mm Blackjacks but the whole combo has to be perfect for the type of riding and the type of modifications for the end result to be the best. Even for most aftermarket cylinders running total loss and mag pumps and race fuel the 46 mm Blackjacks are hard to beat. The nice thing about the 44mm Blackjacks are that they are priced right. Just to let you know we have done stock ported 701s with pipe and impeller running 185 psi and the 44mm Blackjacks worked perfect with out loading up and offered great response even after idling for more than 30 seconds.
Thank you
Art

I'm going to send him my 44mm and buy another one from him and make a duel setup. :party:

i have duel powerbombs they suck so bad that i would feel bad selling them to anyone.

I have run both single and dual powerbombs and absolutely love the way they run. I think the problem might be in your tuning. I have ridden skis with OEM 38/44/46s, dual SREs, and blackjacks and NONE have run as well as my powerbombs. I have a buddy running blackjacks and can't get them tuned right, he said he called and emailed Art and didn't get much help.
