Runaway motor

Your compression/93 octane is fine, I would be concerned about that runaway motor... when I had this happen, it turned out to be popoff/jetting/ clogged filter inside carb. If it starts running away, out of water, it could pop if you don't stop it in time. This is much more likely to damage your motor than 185psi/93 octane.

SP, see above

I was being funny about his timing turned back 90 degrees. Too much advance and you smoke a piston, to far back and it runs like crap and you cannot smoke a piston. Besides, you can not turn the timing back 90 degrees!

A compression tester - more simply put >

1) Remove Both Spark Plugs
2) Screw Comp Tester into one of the spark plug holes
3) Hold Throttle Wide Open
4) Insert Key
5) Push (green) Start Button = Cranking Motor
6) Look at compression tester Gauge
7) Release Air Pressure and remove compression Tester fitting

(Repeat on the other cylinder)

WOW, Great first post, you are going to fit right in around here. I recommend reading the thread before you post again though. He asked how to pressure test a motor to check for air leaks, not check compression.

P.S. Welcome to the "X" :biggrin:

Check this thread out on pressure testing;
