Cutting under padding w/hot knife?

Has anyone had any luck cutting and shaping under padding with something like this?

Don't care how it smells if it would work. They say it's for all types of foam.

First off,the smell and also the potential risk of breathing in the fumes.Mask or no mask.
Just use an angle grinder,wear a good dust mask (china has some good ones ).That is one of the best ways,along with a small belt grinder.Harbor Frieght cheap too!

I use a fisherman’s fillet knife for most of my foam and turf trimming. They work great
