On to the pump swap. I cut the tray out and found a little wet foam around the thru hull fittings. I laid several layers of glass on the back side of the areas I will be sanding into (pump shoe and front mounts), then covered the rest with a single layer. Gonna flip it over tonight and start fitting the pump.

That is all you got done! lnstalled a kawi pump and put some bling on! Time to take it up a notch dogg............:jester:

Lookin' good dude! Elongate that hole (oval it out) in the rear of the scoop grate and it'll bolt right up. The R&D scoops come with an elongated hole stock and bolt right up.

Engine compartment looks super sano, but seal up those holes in tbe bulkhead and seal around all the waterline/bilge tubes. You should seal them on both sides since you have the floor cutout already.

Set the new motor in the hull for the first time Saturday. I was so stoked about my initial alignment I gave myself a celebratory break for the rest of the weekend. I think I now have most of the pieces to put this puzzle together. I consulted Dave @ Impros and he suggested I 'could save money with a hooker'.. so true...

Ya got to stay on him!

And what about your build mxd..........

Nice work, I have had all the parts to do this to one of my FX's for six months but sadly mine are 150 miles away tucked in tightly at the cabin! You're giving me the motivation to dig out the snowblower and go for the rescue drive, keep it up!

Thanks bro! I think getting started was the hardest part for me too.

Got my new Hooker 10/16 in the mail yesterday. It didn't fit inside my pump liner so I pulled the pump off my X2 to see if I could get it in that pump. It fit but still very tight, (unable to turn by hand). The liner looks okay, no grooves just light scratches. Should I just try to 'clean up' the ID the liner using a flap wheel till it slides in?? I was going to just replace the wear ring but that doesn't seem economically reasonable with these kaw650 pumps. Kinda wish I had snagged that 140mag I saw a while back.

Did some measuring and my wear ring is definitely oval. The pump from my X2 has mangled vanes.... so i pretty much need a new pump housing.:lame:

Hey hey, Just relized you said your from 423. Chattanooga . Where do you ride? I usually ride somewhere near skull island. Parents have a lake house near skull island. Close to Sequoyah but on skull island side. I sold my last ski 2 years ago, But should be picking up a SN this weekend unless plans change.
