Sure did. Prices were the same, plus, the flight into Santa Maria arrived later at night, the lay-overs in LAX were longer then they are in San Fran and there is no late afternoon/evening flight out of Santa Maria on Sunday.

Google shows San Luis Obispo is like 14 miles from the Grand Ave entrance and Santa Maria is like 20 miles. Either way, they are both pretty close to the site.

Both Michael and I have transportation covered, and if anyone else flies into San Luis Obispo around that time, I'm sure we can give them a ride too.

Speaking of Silver Bullets, I'll probably get 4 or 5, FRESH from the brewery cases to bring (it's nice having a bro-in-law who works for Coors).

The SBP website says "DELTA AIRLINES ANNOUNCES NEW NONSTOP REGIONAL JET SERVICE TO SALT LAKE CITY"

Old, but still ridin'!!!
Man, I cannot tell yuo all how impressed you are making such an effort to get to the event. I will do my very best to make sure you are NOT disappointed!

As long as I get to ride surf, party, and watch some killer freeriding, I'll be as happy as a puppy with two pe#*kers.

A couple of your famous go-fast cookies or brownies wouldn't hurt either. :knockedout:

I think everyone will be dissapointed if SICKI isn't calling the plays...He knows how to talk...well...alot... maybe too much... :)

I agree, Joe did a fantastic job at the O-Side event! :notworthy:
I think he was busy scoring last year so he didn't get a chance to gab.

Hey gang - so sorry I haven't been able to update youon this recently - things have been insancely busy - between working all but one of the National Tour Stops, all of the west coast regionals races and my regular job..and CarolAnne flying all over the world to run the rest of the IFWA WOrld Tour stops, we haven't had an opportunity to update you - but now that things are finally settling in, there's some terrific news onthe horizon.

We'll have www.SurfSlam.com live by this weekend with some terrific informaiton - which should include registration info from CarolAnne if she can get to an internet in Brazil...and of course you can always check out www.

See the new press release thread for the lastest sponsor info - I think you'll be pleased...

And of course - Joe is working hard on being able to attend this event. He still needs your love and support, so give hm a call and let him know you want to kick back on the beach with him and enjoy this event we're biulding for him!

I will duplicate all of my posts here that I place at other sites, so no need to surf around - really appreciate the bandwidth luv the X is showing - we couldn't do it without you guys!

Hey Lisa, now that the comp is down the beach by the campers, is there a plan on how/where it will be set up? Will you reserve space for it early in the week so we don't park on top of where you want it set up?

How far away from the comp area will we need to be/go to just ride on our own?

Thanks for all the info. I'm so looking forward to going again.

Great questions....I have sweet-talked my quasi-better half into making the trek directly from Havasu to Pismo on Tuesday Morning to meet with the WORCS Motocross event team and stake out the area not only needed for the event, but the surrounding area for use by our campers/spectators. It will be well marked with banners, scaffolding and such by Thursday afternoon. Our permit also delineates the area we have reserved for the event as well...by having our team stake off early, this will make it a lot less likely we'll have to ask random beach campers to relocate, or risk in beng surrounded by us...LOL!

Some more terrific news:

We have secured Joe Gesicki and Mike Jones of AzHiAzIAm as our illustrious event announcers!

The judging will be consistent with the other IFWA world tour stops; 90% of the same judges are being flown in to judge this event, with the roster being filled out by non-other than The God Father of Freeriding, Mr. Randy Laine.

We are in the final stages of completing an agreement which will allow us to screen not one, but two brand new, never-before-seen X-Treme Sport flicks on site Saturday evening. This will be done in concert with our friends with the WORCS races under the Big Top Circus tent, with a huge Benefit BBQ.

Stay tuned for more on this - but be sure to bring some cash as you won't want to miss out on not only the amazing raffle swag (need a tricked out pit bike? It's one of dozens of cool prizes!) but we'll be having another 50/50 raffle with 50% of the proceeds going to our beloved Joe Kenney, and the other 50% going to the winner(s)!.

There's tons more great info coming soon, but you guys gotta let me get the deals signed, and press releases done...hopefully this will appease you for the time being ;)

Good news, I hope staking it off will give us the space we need. However, what about all the traffic driving by all day long (especially during the comp) - that place becomes a freeway!!! I only ask this because I saw it mentioned over at PWC2day: http://www.pwctoday.com/showpost.php?p=1352119&postcount=19
