I went from factory to 50mm risers...personally I liked them better than friends straight bars...definitely makes getting on the ski tougher, but you get used to it...plus they look better as well IMO..going to 75mm with extenders...I prefer the tall wide look, idk what it is about it, just looks cool to me!
I love my 75mm with extenders on a cold fusion plate to a stock -4rn pole....on my freak. Wdk bracket and bolt w spring.
I had to knurle??? The ends of the extenders so that the odi grips would grab, not just spin. Took a hammer and a straight edge gaskets scrapper to make a bunch of grooves in the rrp extenders
As far as adjusting the bar angle once you set it....no..I set mine straight up bc that's how I role (know what I'm sayin). Never moved it except once back to straight when it broke my fall and chin pad bc loose.
The idea behind riser bars is to train your body to be a better, more aware rider. Awareness of the pivot point, where your center of gravity is, a more fluid transfer of body movements. Rrp bars do have some sweep back. It is minimal but significant.
Straight bars and stiff poles dictate a certain style of riding whether in surf or flat it just does not look as fluid. Both stiff aspects throw off my ability to counter balance. These features were necessary bc you needed the extra leverage to make up for heavy long underpowered hulls. Today we have it easy... Don't need to pull and grunt to get it done....its blip/flip.
