Van got a major overhaul. Just working on getting it dialed in as a ski/toy hauler. Plan to get the water tank installed in the next 2 weeks. Other then that its just about done!

Installed HIGH current distribution blocks for winch and compressor. Winch is a REMOTE controlled WARN 3000lb ment for UTV's. This makes loading the dirtbike by yourself EFFORTLESS! Probably the best idea I had during the install. The linespeed on the winch is perfect for loading, fast enough that it does not feel like watching paint dry, but slow enough that you can maintain control while loading. Also installed HEAVY DUTY support brace for the winch. The compressor has a benefit I didnt relise when I installed it. It blows sand off everything (feet and skis) and also blows any sand that makes it in the van right out. Super fast cleaning!

Founds this conversion van bench/bed on craigslist for $100! It was a little dirty, but a good steam clean and it looks BRAND NEW!!

Folds down into a bed for camping/sleeping on the way for freeride roadtrips... with a touch of a button.

I bought a bare cargo van, and to protect the walls from dimpling out I installed a liner kit. Also gives you MAX headroom for dirtbike handlebars, without looking at the metal roof. So far every bike I have tryed fits in without compressing the suspension.

Hardcore HOCKEYPUCK lock to protect the rear cargo area!

jetvan13.JPG

F350 Bilstein HD shocks front and back. Completely transformed the ride of the van, MANDATORY UPGRADE for any quigley owner IMO.

Shot of rear cargo area. FLASH-FX has a preformed jetski "tray" that slides in the back. He set it up for FX1's but I am going to give it a try to see how the SJ fits on it. Worst case I will pull a mold of it and adjust the bunks on the plug. Notice the ETRACK mounting for straps. You cna strap ANYTHING down. Every bolt that went into the van was 18-8 SS.

Beachcart needs to be modified to clear the van bumper, being the van has a 6" lift. Some 2.5" box aluminum and heavy duty bolts gets the job done. Here was version 1. WAY TOO HIGH!! Would make the most offroad capable SHOPCART though...

jetvan6.JPG

Dropped it down 8.5" and this seems pretty damn good. Could go lower but would need to chop off stock bunk supports and weld on new ones....which I plan on having done. This is just to get the van functional and for figuring out a good height.

Looking good!

I'm going to adopt and modify your winch idea for my own purposes. Thanx!!!

Is this van meant to hold only 1 ski, or 2?

It will absolutely hold 2. I am going to set it up for a single ski until my brother gets out of school next year. Probably will just use my hitch hauler if for some reason I need to haul 2, but it can DEF be setup for (2). I plan on building a dual rail setup just like JD has before Wave Daze this year.

Just tested the winch for loading the ski. Worked absolutely flawless! Push of a button ski is loaded. No back strain! Here the ski/beachcart and all my other crap all loaded up. Riding tomorrow rain or shine.

Nice van. Been watching your build-up for my next tow vehicle.

How does it pull through soft sand? I assume no problem?

Are you going to r/u a generator and roof AC for summer time sleeping/camping? That's what I would need one for... camping in AC comfort.... it's soooo damn hot down here in the summer.

Have you thought about the bumper-hitch jet-ski rack that would allow you to put a 3rd ski out back?

Also looks like it's keeps your gear secure... as in you can't see what's in the back which is cool. How nice it must be to take your ski to work, and if you want on the way home drop in for a session.

Like a tank, sand is super soft here and the van baja's right over it. If you air the tires down (which I do not even do) I am sure you can go over just about any sand beach there is.

I really put the camper seat in for long trips, so when you switch off driving..you can take a comfortable nap. Seat actually goes down with the skis loaded in it, which I did not expect it to be able to. You could DEF run a honda EU genny and a roof ac if you wanted some comfortable camping accomodations.

I have a class IV hitch, and my hitch hauler works great on the van, if you want to bring 3 skis. Right now I have an X2 and SJ inside it. They fit no problem.

Thats exactly why I bought the van. Windows are all limo tinted, and everything is out of sight. I have my sks always ready to go, and stop and ride on my commute home! You can change from business attire into a bathing suit in the van, and back into dry clothes after. Plus I can keep the skis stored at my condo which does not allow trailers on the property. I really wish I bought this thing 5yrs ago! I have gotten to ride so much more since having it.

Taking the van down to Daytona for its first real road trip in 10days! No trailer to worry about is such a nice thing. Walking out the door now to go rip the SJ!

I had 2 people asking how the van did so far on the trip to FL so i figured I would post an update. To sum it up this was the best 1000mile trip I have ever done. Van is so comfortable and spacious in the passanger area. Locked cruse control @ 73mph with OD on... and the thing never downshifted once on any hills. Which is completely unlike my jeep that could not sustain speed on any incline while towing. Topped off 3 times on the way down, but none were complete fillups. First "tank" which is the slow NJ-VA leg, averaged 15.1MPG. 2nd fill was 14.5MPG, and the fast south carolina to FL leg was 13.9MPG. So being that it was loaded with 2 skis, all gear, 3 mountain bikes, 3 people, luggage, ect...no complaints about the milage. My brother and my GF watched movies on the tv the whole way and all agreed it was the best raodtrip yet.

Observations:
Daytona's sand is pretty hard pack, so unlike nj beaches the 4x4 is not really needed. Although I had to take it through the areas of the beach they have marked off as "hazard loose sand" in 4x4, just because.

Having a 30gallon fresh water tank with automated washdown pump is truely a PRICELESS option when you are surf riding. Keeps the sand under control, and washes offany nasty :):):):), if you are riding dirty bay water so inside of van does not smell like ____. I highly recommend trying to incorporate this into your trailer/hauler setups if possible. And loading the skis by yourself with the winch is sweet. Thats about all I can think of.
