I reserved our site from the 18th to the 22nd.

Not sure if the TX crew will have a carpool going, but being in College Station I think I will take I-20.
(HWY 6 to 190, 190 over to I-45, 45 to US79 to I-20)

Thats the preliminary plan.

Currently Prem1x is planning to go as is sjkawgirl. Not sure if and when they get the time off, but because we want to get there Thursday to have all Friday to ride I think we will be solo.

NJ requires a safety certificate for all riders. you have to be 16 or older to operate a pwc. NJ also requires a boaters license for inland bodies of water (lakes). just a boaters license isn't good enough in NJ.

We are heading out the 18th EARLY to be able to ride all Fri-Sat also. We will caravan with anyone in the area, but are stopping to see Jenn's Step sister in Alabama on the way home.

AS,

Not sure I want to drive approx 15 hours and set up a tent, so I think we will leave on the 17th and spend the night in AL. It's about 12 hours to Tuscaloosa (8am-8pm) and another 5 or so to Lanier.

True but it is still Respected by other states. Like having a gun permit to conceal, it can be for AL but respected and honed by all other states....except the pissy ones like NY prolly

Not true....there are several states that DO NOT recognize carry permits

if you have a CHL permit in TX - it does not automatically cross over to other states - whether they have a CHL law or not.

The point I'm trying to geta across is. If the kid has a card he's gonna be good to go. I had mine at 10 or whatever before they moved it to 12 then 14. If your kid can ride and is mature, which im sure they will be ridding along side dad. Bring 'em....not gonna get any lip

bah it wasnt even a strong talking to. I played stupid and said he was legal where I live and he kinda shrugged it off. He'll be riding again this year too with a "valid certificate"
