You guys are busting on Clickboom for doing the superflip in AM.... Get over it, the guy just started riding right before WF's 2010 (So one YR of riding, also the guys not 18... He's gotta be 40 ish give or take)... He has the means to buy a 900cc comp ski, he trained every day for that year & you bust on this trick... Give the guys pushing the sport a brake.... I know BF's , underflips are getting boring... I also think some of the guys busting balls arent out there doing half of these tricks...

I can't wait to see WF's this year, now the Daniel Martin has that new KDX hes going to push the AM class to that next level, Not sure What Lucas, DK, Petro, etc are doing

I do think there should be some type of stockish class, but getting people to show up is going to be another story.... Nick has the right idea for a limited glass

Many of you have good point, maybe we does not just need a limited class, but a SJ class with limited 701, A/M hull with limited 800cc max class, Amateur 900cc max, PRO 900cc max and PRO 1200cc. I think in other category of racing like runabout there is a bunch of category(more than 2)??

Yeah but if you go to comps, theres 2-5 riders at the normal stop... Not talking about Nationals.... I seen last years the AM, ran with the Pros all at once due to the amount of people...

Great idea, just not enough people

I rode with Daniel yesterday, that ski rips! He was doing roll to 180 to double backies on a am ski. I'll be competing with him this year and my ski how it sits now can't do that but it doesn't worry me about competing against him. There is more than one way to skin a cat=)

There needs to be an entry level class. Better than beginners or novice, but some where for an ambitious newcomer to aspire to.
800cc seems sensible as it is then competitive for 760's.

My main stipulation would be to disallow backflips. Much as its the trick we all aspire to, its the only trick which needs mega horsepower. I know several young UK riders on stock hulls with 701's getting some very serious air that would shame lots of stroked riders on a/m hulls. There would then be close and varied competition on machines capped (within reason of course) within a budget. That will encourage more riders...

No reason you cant backflip a under 800 cc ski, oem hull.... Mike from Albanymotor sports was at Lk Diaz (Daytona freeride) riding a oem hull, 760-770 ish single carb, b pipe ski and stabbing them in.... And hes not a small guy either....

I was very impressed..... So dont limit the tricks just because your not riding a 1000cc....

Myself, my dad, Rick Roy, Eric Malone, Lee Stone and Mark Baxter all had a meeting with Scott F regarding this very subject. Half of us were in the office with Scott, the other half were on the phone during the meeting, and each of us gave ideas on how to improve freestyle. Each of us had the same idea - make a third class for stock hulls and a 800cc max. Plain and simple, Scott pretty much ignored what we each had to say, and simply said it would cost too much (or something ridiculous).

Plain and simple, Scott Frazier would NOT approve another freestyle class, yet he adds weird race classes and rediculous rules for the classes. Pretty sure I saw something like Expert Vets Runabout Sport Spec Limited Juniors Open Normally-Aspirated Stands on the sign up sheet at Worlds, along with 53 other racing classes, but only 2 freestyle classes.

I think it will only be a matter of time before more divisions of freestyle classes come along. In my eyes freestyle has such a great appeal that I believe it is catching on more than the racing end of the sport. Not to bash racing by any means though.

Was he not at the same world finals i was??? Did he not noticed how most of the spectators left during the races, but yet it was hard to find a spot in the stands during the freestyle events. WTF????

Freestyle is what brings the crowd & audience. You guys may complain that backflip after backflip is boring to watch, but its sure a hell of a lot more entertaining that watching people go left-right-right-left-right-left-right, etc. And the stands are definitely much more full during freestyle then any race all week long.

It would be like Villipoto going to compete in the lites class...
Sandbagging!

Same principal with a rider doing superflips in an AM class...

Lucas is an amateur, this was his first year competing at all and he was attempting superflips this year before finals. Was he sandbagging?

Also i think freestyle is being held back by racing at this point.

Having more classes at the regional level will not help. Kids need to step up and compete. Whats the pont of having 3 classes if only 4 people show to enter? More classes did not help in racing so why would it help freestyle? I can maybe see having 3 for the WF but thats it.

It would help if we added a 3rd class that was much more budget friendly.

Freestyles lowest level class requires $20k+ skis to be competitive. If there was a true novice class for Stock Hulls and 800cc max, we'd definitely see an increase in entries at World Finals.
