looking into getting a new superjet 2016 any big positive changes Yamaha has done ? Last one I owened was a 96.
Any impute on the new or old super jets is fine.

First mods I will be doing is

. D cut ride plate
. Intake grate
. Blowsion steering
. Riser bars
. Extended steering nozzle
. Pole spring

It carves a thousand times better than a 96. The rear is narrower, it has small sponsons on the front, the handle pole has been shortened, the ride plate is extended, and the pump is set back but I forget how far. Oh ya and we can't forget the true horse power producer: BOLD NEW GRAPHICS! Lol.

I love my 2014 hull. Great all around ski for me. I ride surf, rivers, big lakes. Does everything I want it to do. Mine is far from stock but I love it. Ever since I sold my SXR back in 2013, I was looking for something that could carve like my SXR but would perform better in surf. I wasn't going aftermarket and my friend sold me a 2014 hull minus motor, ebox, mid shaft, waterbox, gas tank. Everything else was still intact. Swapped my square guts over and I was hooked. Now I'm going all out on mods!

You are on the right track for mods to do right away. If I could do it over again, I would have gotten rid of the stock neoprene turf from the beginning. It's super slick. I don't think you need to d cut the ride plate but you should cut it flush to the end of the hull as it is extended.

I am going to be hopefully buying a brand new one from a dealer within a year or two. I want to have a modded one and completely stock one minus turf and bars that will literally be premix and go for the next 15 years haha.

Good luck with the new ski! I think you'll enjoy it

It depends on what time of the year you buy. I bought one in feb so I had no bargaining power. The dealer wouldn't budge so I paid the 8000 msrp. After taxes and fees it was just shy of 9k. At the end of the season dealerships who still have some give huge discounts. I think last year there was a dealership selling some for like 6k or something???

Thaat's braptaastic!
Dude you won't regret it. Steering is poop but for 100 bucks you can get the +50mm protec nozzle and for free thread the 3rd outter hole on the turn plate for the cable ball and get way more response out of the steering but you'll never gain the throw that pre 2008 superjets had unless you get a new pole or mod the stock one to work with the older cable. Other than that, I love my 2014. Dream ski... I rode the hell out it for a year with no sponsons then added Blowsion destroyer sponsons... Dude jizz. They are bomb skis

Wasn't there just a thread in the for sale section of a dealer blowing out the previous year models? $7100 seems high unless those are all gone.

No changes since 2008 other than graphics. Buy what you find for the right price.

I think you were referring to the place in Minnesota called Heinens. There was a huge mishap with one of the shippers who scratched the living poop out of someone's brand new ski and then a huge ordeal happened where nobody would own up to the mistake. Hope it worked out for the buyer.
