This has been a very hard thread to read! I was Checking the news reports and thread and praying for the best.

Very tragic news to see a guy like this pass away. Condolences go out to his family and those who were close to him. He will definitely be missed at the next freeride!

I will contribute to whatever fund is set up. I will also buy the Remembrance stickers and proudly display them on my Superjets. I read some of the comments on that News channel and they really made me sick to my stomach. What is the difference between Kevin and a Cop or Fireman or Dan Wheldon? Are they also irresponsible as some people may think ? HELL NO.

Excellent post. I don't think any of us should stop riding. Knowing Kevin, that is the opposite of what he would want.

I will get a paypal account set up in the next couple days and start a thread about the decals. If someone else wants to do shirts, that is cool too but I will stick with the decals. I'll probably make them $10 a piece so that there is a decent donation going to the family. That way someone who wants to make a bigger donation can just get as many as they want.

Im so very very sad of the tragic outcome , however im very glad he was found and '' I ''we can begin to go on from here , I could not get it out of my mind that for 3 days he was possibly STILL floating somewhere alone in that huge lake , so this has put an end to that sickening thought. From what I have seen while i was with Kevin, he never knew a stranger,he had unlimited enthusiasim, and lived every moment to the max, just an all around great guy that I have had the good fortune of knowing and sharing with him a few cold beers, early breakfast,rips on the lake and a warm campfire. He will be dearly missed at all of the freerides..... Since Kevin sponsored the last WAVERAVE 2011 mabe we can call it '' BRUINS WAVERAVE'' . From now on in rememberence of our fellow rider ??????? Its Just an Idea But I think it has a ring to it ..... Put me online for any donation assistance I can be of help with . We also need a way to get his address to where we can send mail/Flowers to ''Cards '' etc. that might help just a little ... RIP Kevin !

This is absolutely devastating to hear after following this for a couple of days. I can't imagine what it would be like to lose my father, husband, or best friend at such a young age. I too did not know Kevin but I know that hearing and reading everybodys comments on this site, I definitely know that I would have looked up to and respected Kevin Bruins. Something that has absolutely blown me away during this time is the amount of support and faith everyone on the X has had the past couple days. I honestly feel like I am part of another family here and I know that Kevin is probably looking down and thinking that being apart of this sport and this site is probably one of the best things he's ever done and been apart of. Thank you all for letting me be apart of this family too.
Count me in also for whatever funds are set and stickers that I need to buy to help support the family. Rest in Peace Kevin Bruins and make sure that you keep rocking on in heaven, and continue to watch over all your buds in this sport to make safe decisions. I'm also praying for peace within the Bruins family

I am all for some decals also. PLEASE PM me with the paypal account when you get it going. I am going to ask around work to see if anyone will donate to him. I work with juveniles and we all know how much education is for a child and I want to make sure that we can give that to his family and help his wife out.
