LSFR September Ride

I will be there whichever location yall decide. If its in CB I will just tent it. If you do Calypso I would be in for a bed and I am pretty sure Nick would be along as well except he may have to work now that he has a real job.

OK, GRR rep here. Sry, I missed the whole thread. I'm in for the weekend. Have a 21ft 5-6 adult camper with Ice cold a/c and a geinie. Just to make shure. what weekend and where? I prefer as far south as possible.

Not sure what ski I'll have then. Hopefully the 'Bannana'. Just opened up my SN today to find a nice present of bearings inbeded in the cylindars. Man I love thos self starting solinoids. If anyone ever makes an aftermarket yamaha solinoid, they'll be a millionare in a week.

No way we are going to fill that house with just locals Your right.

Anyone have any good ideas, feel free to throw it in.

Alright, since you asked...

Some of us here at the GRR are interested in coming. Problem is it's a 5 hour drive. That sucks to say the least. We have a good beach with lots of hotels, rental houses bars, and restaurants ect. It's only a couple hours away for us (port A/Padre Island). The beach is good and campers are welcome. We would be almost certain to show up if LSFR where held there.**It can't be that much farther for you guys to drive there and it would be a nice change of scenery too. I know it's unlikely you guys would change the venue this late but I wanted to express a thought some of us here had shared for future rides.

Also, if anyone would be interested, we might put on a ride anyway in a month or so just before it gets cold.

**OK just checked: Freeport to Port A= 4 hours 11 min. Not as short as I had hoped. Too bad there is no beach between...

Has anyone ever checked out the beach area at Matagorda where the Colorado River dumps? It looks like there may be beach access there. If so, I bet that would be a sweet spot for a ride plus it's quite a bit closer 4 us.

Another idea would be to have the fall ride one place, the spring ride at the other.

Tim, Im up for any ideas, I like your suggestions. Problem about a house is someone needs to go down there before hand and scout out a house.

How many hours is Freeport for you guys in SA? I did like that area we were in back in March.

Heck I wouldnt even mind heading your way to ride with the GRR guys at the I-35 crossing over the GR one weekend.
My riding season will come to an end on Oct 1.
My doc will keep me off the ski prolly till next March ride so I need to ride alot untill then.

Were about 4 hours from Freeport. It took us 5+ hours with the camper last March. Too bad there is not a more neutral site less than 4 hours for all of us. I'll work on our guys for LSFR but pulling a camper for 5+ hours isn't helping us. We'd have to have a house or something most likley.

Anyway, we have access to my Aunt's harbor house just south of Port A on Padre Island. It's right by our favorite riding spot "Bob Hall Pier." It has plenty of room for all of us and I can bring my camper for a beach base camp. There is also an inexpensive but nice hotel/RV park in Port A. It has 2 queen beds for $100 a night on the summer weekends. They have 2 bedroom suites for $135. It's right off the beach with a very large, hot jaccuzzi that has room for 8+ and a pool. There are more options at Port A and there are plenty of night spots and breakfast spots. Not to mention the full grocery store and lots of gas stations minutes from the beach. There are even a few rental houses on the beach but not as many as Freeport.
