modding an sxr

So I just picked up an sxr for a small project. Something guys can ride when I go riding considering I am the only one around here that rides.

As of now the ski is bone stock other than an intake grate and a wet pipe. It also has 500gpm bilge already installed. What should I install to get the max amount of bottom end ower without spending wads of cash.

as of now I have a light weight fly wheel en route. I will change out the flame arrestors, prolly leave the carbs and change the head. Add some sponsons. I have an full rrp pole setup sitting in the garage that I can put on. Any other suggestions? prop? other goodies?

Not sure about freestyle pitches on the prop. I am running a Solas 13/22 with 5 mil cutback and a TBM cone. I am pretty happy with it so far. I am running same setup as you minus the flywheel.

Is this the only SXR you got? If you have a wet pipe you should be getting plenty of bottom on this ski.

I have another sxr, I just sold a sj and I am building a faltwater freestyle ski. I have actually never rode an sxr without a wet pipe so I would not know the difference. Just looking for some extra bolt ons to give it a little more jam and give me something to do while I wait for the next riding season.

depending on the head, your compression may be around 170 or 160, My SXR pushed around 170 with the stock head, bump the compression to 180. Advance the timing. Repitch the OEM prop to a 13-17 (Impros) and you will get alittle more bottom.
