I am following proformance's build here on the forum. I stole this idea of a tow loop that might hold up better than what's currently out there. I also have ordered a ss ratchet and just got some straps. I'll build my own brap strap later on.

that thing is purty

Thanks. It seems that with all the high-end builds going on right now this is just another bread-and-butter build. Ah, well , hopefully it's good for $hit and giggles to someone.:jester:

I've been thinking to place the primer and bilge on-off switch inside the motor compartment for a clean look. Anybody done this? My plan is to make some ss brackets and rivet them in place under the hood lip. Any suggestions?

It was time for pressure testing. Hooked everything up and went to work. Failed bad. Got 2 leaks, one at the cylinder and one in the flywheel area.
Had to strip it down. It seemed that one of the bearings wasn't aligned when I split the cases. That was the only thing I didn't put together. I am not pointing fingers here, just stating facts... Resealed everything but have to wait for it to dry.

Since I'll put the billet couplers on, I found out that I needed a spacer. My neighbour helped me out with that. I also cleaned out the engine compartment with some boat cleaner and my multi tool. I even started to install some of the stuff for the motor.

I cleaned the tank using the same tool as above. The fuel block off and pick-up got installed while at it.
A few years back I had a hell of a time removing my e-box. Since then I always put some heat shrink on the screws to reduce the risk of corrosion.

I turfed my chin pad a few years back. It looked ok, I just cleaned it up some more with the dremel. Plus I probably saved a full ounce!

I got a new(er) start/stop switch from superjetstaruk which I installed. The one I had was functional, but fugly and cracked. This is better!

Moved on to the tray. I put down some underpad on/in the foot holds. I'll probably receive my Hydroturf order this week.

I even painted some this past weekend. I sprayed the old bilge hole. I couldn't spray the hull, just too messy for my small workshop. I brushed the hull. I will most likely need to wetsand both. I'll just spray some clearcoat on the small hole after sanding.

It is nice to have the primer in the tray for surf riding especially. A couple quick squirts can save your @ss sometimes

that sucks!

do you still need me to send you an oem one my swedish friend?
what fitting did you use on the tank and hull?, very clean looking

Nah, I am all good now. Thanks though.

I am not sure what you are asking here? The fuel pickup is from Blowsion, and I used polish and a machine to clean the tank and the hull.

nice idea, did this work?

It does. No problems this far, but I am in not in salt water either..

So I can only work on this thing on weekends. Every other weekend, that is. This is the work from this weekend.
I relocated the bilge outlets. I also cleaned the bilges and tried to create a clean install.

I also did another leak down test, this time it passed. I let it sit for 10 minutes, no loss of pressure. That should do it! After that I mounted the carbs and started with fuel lines. I got some oem fuel lines from jetmaniac (thanks Chris) which I prefer to use. I like the sleeper/oem look better than the colorful look under the hood.

I continued with the turf. Shaped the the underpad. I will do the turfing another weekend, didn't feel like it this weekend. With 2 feet of snow and temperatures around 10-20 F I don't feel any need to rush...

Since I already prepared for having tilt at some stage I cut some of the rear rail off as I am painting and turfing anyway. I also installed my new drain plugs, ss low profile screws. I had this idea that I didn't want to use a eyelet in the back. I fabbed this up instead. Some straps and hardware, sort of like a tow loop but out of the way. I even reused the cut out from installing the bilge outlet. Finnished painting the old outlet as well. Finally.

nice work man

Thanks, that's nice of you.
I got some done this weekend. Not much, I took my 10 year old daughter to an auditon to the Swedish version of "US got talent". I am so proud of her, she searched for the details and trained really hard. She didn't make the first draft, but nevertheless!:arms:

I got some small parts from John at JSS, second bilge outlet, new gasket for the e-box to mention a few. I just had time to install the new washer for the coupler and paint one of the hull sides.

It will probably be a while until next time, unless I take some time off from work.
Later!

I took a day off from work to work on the ski. Ended up spending most of the day running errands, going to the dentist, updating my CV and such...
I managed to fix some small stuff though. Wetsanded the side of the hull and painted it once more, just used up the last drops on the inside behind the e-box. Installed the second bilge outlet. Wetsanded and painted the old fuel filler.

Me and a few friends went sleddin´this weekend. Tried some seriously fast sleds. Artic Cat F8 Sno Pro and Z1 Turbo Sno Pro. Man, those things haul a$$!

I managed to get some work done. The midshaft bearing died after the outer seal gave up. My buddy works at the local Audi dealership and helped me press out the old crap and also with getting the new stuff in. This is the finnished result, I ended up getting rid of the S/S bracket for the grease fitting and some of the hose. Saving weight...
I also got some small stuff from John at JSS, nice stuff as always!
