Im surprised someone hasnt sent one of the better pipes to the Chinese to manufacture,they have welders that work for very cheap,and they seem to have stainless cheaper as a raw material. they make turbo headers with perfect welds for alot cars for 1/10th American products. these things would be dime a dozen if that ever happened. A chamber would be 100 bucks or less and look spot on perfect.

Hey, good idea.

Mind posting what your job is, maybe we can get that sourced out cheaper as well.

You forget one key factor!
The cylinder is lined and water cooled, the exhaust manifold is jacketed and water cooled.
Alum exhaust pipe would not be water cooled and will become super soft from high heats and fail in short time.
If not melt
actually a typo there I said 1400 in stoch, actually 1600 in stoch

Then you order 100 pipes from china, they bill you for them and the shipping crate never shows up at the doc and you just got screwed out of your money!


This chaps my a$$, people want great things for there boats, they want the latest and best thing out. So someone spends 100's of hours and thousands of dollars developing great products, then they price them to make back some of there design costs and development time.
Then some pos coat dragger makes a china copy sells them for 100 bucks less and everyone jumps on it.
Then they climb on there nitro burning computer and wine like a siezed piston on how no one will design or make parts.
Or better yet sponsor them!!!
Let's see your chineese company sponsor a rider.
Or be like Blowsion at surfslam and build three boats to bring in great riders to compete on.
It's the mantality of mr china that has ran off all the great companies who used to sponsor riders!
Shops don't make money riders don't get rides!

Tim You forgot to mention all the "google internet engineers" who well ague about how you should have done your product.
Your pipes were the best I ever owned,

In todays limited market with motors ranging up to 1000 plus cc , I would stick with a cone pipe and build it to suit,

the guys buying billet cases cylinders and 16mm stroker cranks Need someone with your understanding to build a pipe specific to their motor combo

I have to think that torr (masterblaster) meant someone here design it and have manufacturing overseas. not someone knock off a part for cheap and rip off the designer.


I personally prefer to buy things made in the US. if I can't get that then german and japanese manufacturing is great. taiwan/china/mexico are a gamble at best.

That's a big nerve with me, I spent 6 months on dyno building a great header for Subaru EJ205 motor and after I was done I sold three and two of three ran to Taiwan and copied them sold them for 300 bucks!!
I killed a 12,000 motor on dyno getting it right!

basically it was just that it was the correct tuned length and volume for MY old school (early 90s)5mm stroker,

Tim, that price was for the chamber only. I love the chineese products. You buy them for a lot less than American, then you need to mod them to acutually work untill they break prematurely then destroy everything else with it. But hell, you saved so much on the initial purchace that it only cost twice the money and time and headache. The europeans pay more the first time to get it right. No chineese stuff for me!!
