you got it right on. thats where i put the mount. you have to have it that close since farther away and the pole starts to get into the frame too much.

thanks matt. did you mount it on the top part of the hood or the side downsloping part? and was the camera position horizontal or vertical?

top flatter part as far to the back of the ski i could before the hood starts to slope down. since the cam has a 170 degree angle lens it doesn't really matter the angle since it gets everything from where its mounted on back.
