If you are just setting a speed record with your couch it might be a bit boring, but it could be pretty interesting during inverted tricks and the like. I'm obviously not going to make a 10 min video of just engine cam footage, it would be very brief clips used in conjunction with camcorder footage of the same trick(s).

Aside from entertainment, I also see this useful from a design or troubleshooting standpoint. As others said, watching things flex or even fail at 60fps in HD during actual riding conditions could really help figure out how to stop what's happening. For example, I keep breaking hoods on my blaster from pancaking it. I have a pretty good idea as to the mode of failure, but watching it happen would take out all the guess work. For that matter, how many people have actually watched their ski ingest water? Or take water on?? No one, but everyone has an idea on how to prevent it from happening.

We were setting this up with the our skis last summer. We used a push light like the ones you stick under a cabinet or the ones that you see in infomercials. It worked out ok. We used to to see where our water intrusion was. The problem is setting it up to minimize the shadows for your camera angle.

GREAT IDEA !! I actualy wanted to do the same thing to test on water intrusion from inside from different angles .... to help eliminate weak spots in hood seal area
