Makes a pretty good case for routine removal and cleaning at least once a season doesn't it? I haven't had any of mine seize up yet but i'm not looking forward to it.

May be too late...

But there is a board member (customride0105) that can get the screws out. However if you have already drilled down into them im not sure he can help. Might be worth while sending him a PM with some pictures.

I sent mine to him yesterday. I only have one stuck though.

Once you start drilling stainless don't stop (if you can help it) as it heat hardens like crazy and it gets a lot more fun.

OMG I hate drilling stainless... Dude I had to drill one 1/4" hole through a 1/8" plate and I was turning the metal red hot before I got through it! And i tried slow and steady for the first 10 minutes so I just went to town with a drill-press and barely got through it. Sucked bad!

the most successful way I have seen to remove them is to tig weld a nut to the exposed portion of screw add some heat to the header and bulldog that sucker out, but if you must drill slow as possible and if you can keep oxygen away from the area thats a big help:icon16:

Why can't or don't people on worst cases just drill out the screw, tap and install a jet in the spray hole and cap the shell? Have seen this done to one before can't think why it's not discussed as a fix. To hell with expensive screws and sticking problems.

I don't think I'm totally following what you're saying but adjusting a screw is so much easier than changing a jet. Plus you still have the problem of drilling out the screw which is exactly where the original poster is.

i had the same problem, only i bought the pipe after someone had tried to remove the screw.
all i can say is go very slow with a good shape cobalt bit, lots of soap or drilling lube, and i had the best luck with alot of heat, it tends to break up the corrosion.
btw, i had installed stainless steel timeserts in mine, that was i don't have the dissimilar metals on the threads.

LMAO I agree it's the B-pipe way of life. What's more confusing to me is who honestley adjust's them or ever screw's with them again after they are dialed in?
Pro-Tec figured this out long ago JMO :smokin:

DING,DING,DING we have a winner. THis is the best way to remove a broken bolt. Ive done it many times.
