Rear tow eye with 25mm under padding?

What do people do with the rear tow eye when using 25mm under padding? I ran the padding all the way to the back of the tray and then cut through the hole, but it's far too thick for the original eye to reach through without compressing the padding way too much for it to stay that way.

Thoughts?

I have 1" padding and just compress the hell out of it to make my threads start on eyelet. It IS a pita the 1st time-but it WILL go. You would think the turf would pop out the side of eyelet, but it dont. If u want some security-put a lil dap weldwood or superglue on the bottom edge of eyelet and that will ensure the turf not popping out of the edge.

cut the underpad like a funnel shape, leave some room for the flange of your bow eye.

Cool - I'll buy the longer one. Thanks.

Gil, I can get it compressed enough, but it's way too much pressure and the turf pops around the flange of the eye. In retrospect I realized I should have done something like Atomic Punk did, but it's too late now.
