Rickter MX-1 build log

Since I've never seen a build log for an MX-1 I'll try to put in a bunch of details for anyone who references this in the future. There will be some video along with the written for more context. The video isn't made to be the most exciting and compelling, but will go through our thought process, part selection, what works and what doesn't, and then show it in action eventually. We're getting some weights along the way but ask questions if you got em.

Some basic parts for this build:

2019 Rickter MX-1 - Carbon core
66E 927 Group K
B pipe with custom 66E manifold, yamaha head pipe and a Blaster limited chamber, OEM SJ waterbox
Superjet sytle fuel tank
66E electronics w/ Zeeltronics and lightened flywheel
OEM 155 pump (Blaster length driveshaft
6/12 skat trak 5mm cutback impeller
Thrust trim with flowguard
155mm pump shoe, RRP intake grate
WB2 steering cable
ADA WB2 steering cable adaptor
UMI Rickter steering
Raddudes dual hood strut kit


If you have ideas or suggestions, let us know. Building this ski with this power plant is new to us but should be alright if we can get it to work.

I sold that exhaust manifold a longgg time ago here on the x, crazy to see it still floating around… only ever seen one before!! Interesting they recommend no power valves, we all have great results with riva gas valves but like you stated you can’t run them with that manifold (that’s why I sold it!). This should be a awesome build, following this.

What was it? Looks to be cast, did somebody make a one off casting? (Seems wierd)
 
Pretty happy you are running that 66E, will the B pipe clear the cases/engine mount ears?

A Superjet limited chamber would not, so with @Storbeck 's help, we tested a Blaster limited chamber and it fits well. I was able to buy a chamber and we'll be able to get that in. I'm really curious about the 66E platform, I've never riden a ski with anything 66E before.

I had bent one out of aluminum sheet and bolted it to that boss on the back of the cases. It worked okay but eventually the vibration would crack it and I would have to toss a new one on. I am not sure what the best option is, probably to glass in a couple mounts to the bottom of the hull and have a U shaped fiberglass piece that bolts down to the hull. Maybe have something with a flange that can bolt to the bulkhead?

I would be curious to see how it is handled in the GP800 hull.
