The red pipe makes great power, the down fall as mentioned before is it will blowout is coupler gasket if it isnt setup with some extra care.
This is what we do and have had success.
#1 Make sure every bolt associated with the pipe and mounting assembly has red loctite on it.
#2 As mentioned above, make sure the shim the head to pipe bracket so as when you tighten it up it doesnt "pull down" any parts to mesh with the other surface. You want everything touching when its loose and just tighten it together.
#3 The exhaust manifold to chamber connection uses three bolts to hold it together. We swap those out for studs and then safety wire the studs so the nuts will not back off.
#4 The gasket for the exhaust manifold to chamber has very little machine surface to actually seal against do to a misalignment casting flaw. To get the most sealing possible, apply a 1/8" bead of black RTV silicone to both side of the gasket and let it setup for about 30minutes before assembly.
Also just a tip: Make sure all the water passages are clear and free before assembly. The pipe has a small fitting the top rear of the chamber that likes to get clogged. Its always good practice to have water filters installed on your boat.
