Other Some newly found battery information

Just a little battery info I found out the other day. I didn't want to crap on Par's battery thread.

My jumper pack finally took a crap it lasted for 6 years and I use it HEAVILY. I disconnect the battery from every ski that I work on and use this jumperpack to eliminate the "battery issue" right off the bat. But anyhow the local battery shop told me that this battery has about 550 cca's at 32 degrees. (But the internet says 257) Either way it will start a 50 HP kabota diesel tractor with no battery installed with no problem.

And he said that alot of jumper packs run them because they are light powerful and have great deep cycle come back. He also said that it is a lead acid battery but if you cut it open you will only get about 2 table spoons of acid out of it because of the padding used to space the plates that the AGM is just a selling point and SLA (sealed lead acid) is the same... But for the price I will run this battery in everything I have. I didn't know jumper packs had such cheap batterys. Take a look at this one..

I don't know anything about this site it is just the cheapest place I could find this battery.

This is all hear say from the battery guy at PLP battery but with my use of this battery in my jumper pack I am running one in my ski unless I find a stronger cheaper one.

here is some more info on this battery.

I've been running that battery in one of my SeaDoos for 3 or 4 years now. I was pretty skeptical when my Dad brought it home, but I guess it's been a pretty good deal. I think he's using them in his motorcycles too...

The specs are good.
Usually with batteries like that they do not have the vibration or impact resistance that you get with Odyssey and others. The chemical makeup is probably very similar (which makes the specs comparable) but the internal construction is not. They are meant to sit on a shelf/stationary. Are they worth a try? For $27 I would say so.

duh, there are only a couple of actual manufacturers for batteries. then a million distributors and companies that re-badge them and change the colors to identify them as brand xyz. i did a lot of research on batts when i was in the audio industry. the private label industry is huge when you have a viable product to meet many markets. things like posts, color, and shape are usually the only difference in the units.

That looks like the Jetworks battery I just bought. Are you guys saying Jetworks buys these and puts there name on them?

that is exactly what i am alluding to.. they will tell you that the internals are different and that may be a possibility to some extent. the private labeling industry is huge and very diverse in its products

I don't know about the internal make up of the battery but I have beat the crap out of it. It has hit the concrete floor too many times to count... it vibrates off of the back of a running ski about once a month.

I am going to stock them and sell them to customers next summer. And for that price I want a spare sitting around just in case the truck battery dies. Shipping is cheaper the more batteries you buy from that Batterysharks. $100 for 3 of them delivered

I used mine today to jump a msx 150 polaris it was full of water and had a dead battery YEA!!!! but it held up the whole time and it shows 75% charge left. That seems pretty decent kinda holds up like my odyssey.

To bring this back up top. How are they holding up for those who bought them. I don't ride my own skis anymore so I can't test a ski battery. But in the mower and jumper pack they are doing great.

I have a friend that works for a large security company. He gets the 12 amp version for $8. They work fine in his old 700 raider.

I don't know where in the he'll Jetworks batteries originate but I've used the same one for 4 years. It started in a SN went to a RN ... Both with a total loss ignition and now it lives in my seadoo gsx after it spent the last six months in my lawn tractor. It's been a beast of a battery. I quit running it in my freak because the deka ext 9 is smaller and lighter.

I ordered 10 of them and the first few were perfect but the others needed an initial charge But I haven't had a complaint yet. I have been using one in my jumper pack since the first post and it is still just like new.
