Stock water separator in fuel line?

I plumbed mine in when I built up my 07 and plan on doing the same with my new build. It's free, it's safe and it works...the only negative I know of is that it is very good at seperating the skin from the back of your hand when servicing pissers or waterbox elbow or anything up in that corner. I may relocate it slightly depending on how much room I have.

i like the re-locate idea. doin up the clamps for the elbow ect is kind of a pain. never thought to move it!!

my buddy actually put a second one in line for he has had numerous problems with getting water through the breather into the tank. Both fill will water quite fast. He also moved the breather tube farther up the pole.

As stated above...

If you'll notice, the drain portion you can unthread has a groove cut into the begining of the threads, loosening the nylon nut/ drain and leaving it will allow the seperator to drain continuously without the need to drill a hole.

I get rid of them and do not have any issues with water in the fuel.

Interesting than dude says he does away with the carb internal fitlers???? WHY?????? added protection and I have had them clog without my external filters clogging??? Dont get that one at all.

Does anyone have a good answer to this? Because there are certainly a number of good reasons to keep it.

Its a safety thing, if your one way valve should go faulty it could empty fumes and neat fuel into the engine compartment if it were not venting to the outside, couple this to an arcing ht lead and....BANG.

Here is one trick I discovered that works very well for keeping water out of the vent line. Run the end of the vent line half way into a small bottle or can (asprin bottle) and poke a hole at the bottom and top with a needle. Air can pass easily enough while water entry is cut way down. It buys enough time during a sub to keep water from ever getting to the line. The only time I ever see water in the separator is after the ski has been on its side or rolling in surf for a long time.
