IMO, I think they are no good for flat. I have a set on my white boat and found it more difficult for spin moves, especially if your sitting on the hood (makes me fall over every time!). I do, however, love them in the surf and for carving.

It's a matter of practice. I can do hood tricks & spin and recover with Tubbies II just fine.

Holy craziness....
Tubbies are the best modification I have done as far as handling goes.... The carving ability and lift you get from them just makes riding a sj more fun... I personally love them on flatwater... They make turning at high speed more predictable and cleaner... It's like going from a car w/ crappy wheels and tires to a car w/ 19" BBS wheels and Perelli P-Zeros on em'... I don't do any hood riding, but I can see how they would mess w/ that...
