Super Jet Swapmeet's "Really?" RN build

I am by far no expert at this i just watched a few you tube videos on vacuum bagging, but here is how i did it. I got all my cloth, the bag, peel ply, and absorbent cloth all cut and laid out on a table. Then i put the gum tape on the ski around the tray and cut a few extra pieces so i can make the pleats in the bag. I did this all by myself would have been easier with another person for sure, i just did as much prepping as i could so i could be as efficient as i could by myself. I mixed up some epoxy and wetted out the cloth with a roller...to be faster. After getting all the cloth on the ski where i wanted for the most part i got the peel ply down and the absorbent cloth then started getting the bag on and pleating it. I got the pump hooked up and let it start sucking, while it did that i adjusted and got all the cloths to lay how i wanted them the best i could. Hope that all makes sense.
I did find out after i had some peel ply move and had some absorbent cloth right on the fiberglass which sucked to get off, but for the most part went pretty good.

Re-organized my shop yesterday to get ready for the tear down. I'll post pics later. Maybe.
I haven't pulled any parts because I didn't have a place to put them in a organized fashion. Now I do.

Been a little under the weather for the last 4-5 days. Probably shouldn't have been dicking around in my shop but Oh well.... things have to get done.

I got my roll of Carbon in yesterday. This stuff is BEEFY... I'm pretty excited. I still need to get bagging supplies. Between this thread and the bagging thread I started in the composites section i'm getting a good idea of what I need. I'll probably start cutting this weekend.

I dunno if its fair to say that i've been slacking. I've had sick kids, been sick myself and... ya know... life.
Actually, I feel like death warmed over today but I figured my thread needed some love.

All those excuses out of the way... I did work Friday Saturday and Sunday. Friday cleaned and reorganized my shop for this rebuild. I cleaned off a chrome wire shelf to keep all the parts. Also I bought this dope double decker ski carrier from Mr Miyagi, which helps since I have four hulls in my shop.

Saturday I started tearing down the ski. This went much faster than I expected considering I was careful to bag and label everything.

Yesterday I finished up tear down and decided to weigh the bare hull as I received it from Mr Brah. The weight shown includes the weight of that pipe and some other misc stuff, but otherwise is accurate.

I did some more work, but I wanted to take more pictures before I post the progress..... for the betterment and flow of the thread, so i'm holding off.

If you feel bad and the kids are sick by I'd stay out of the shop till ya feel a lot better. But laying on the couch and not doing stuff sucks too!

Organization is awesome though, I use muffin tins as well, along with screw the bolts back into parts I remove from the engine.

first set of holds is done, and swap threw me a few curveballs and now I have some more work to do. He came up with a killer idea that I can add to these with no trouble. he also pointed out that it might be a good idea to make the footholds available open in the back so you could kick straight in.

I have a few things to tweak to make some other options available, but some sneak peeks will be up soon. and as I knock out his new ideas those will be unveiled in a day or 2 or after the holidays.

I'm kinda stoaked about the foothold thing. We would be pretty dangerous if we lived in the same timezone...
Last night we were on the phone like

And my wife was looking at me like

But I could tell inside she was like...

In her defense, Monday night the shows we watch come on... But we we're doing some serious brain storming! She's cool now... ok... enough about that...

Ok, where were we? Oh yeah... so I cut the turf out of the tray. I found that cutting it out in strips using the oscillation tool was super easy.

So my inital plan was to cut out the Klowner foot holds, so that maybe I could sell them to some poor soul who wanted footholds for $25.
These foot holds are now and forever called Jokers... because what a joke. I could rub goat semen on a paper towel and it would be more structurally robust.
I cut around the hold, try to pry it away from the two part foam and they disintegrated.

Next was the one way valve. If you're just now joining us... the intake for the one way was mounted 1" off the floor of the bilge, which is fairly silly.
Because I plan on shortening the back I used my old and dear friend 'brute force' to remove the the outlet and the pipe.....

I then attempted to break it out of the firewall as well. I know i'll have cover the hole and redo it, so I just figured i'd break it and worry about it later.

So i'm cranking on the pipe, working it back and forth, back and forth, back and forth....

Jetski Kitty's cousin thought it was cool...

So why oh why won't the tube come out of the firewall??????

Somebody thought it would be a good idea to put a 1" silicone/ 5200 boot around the inlet pipe... ya know for reasons...

I still haven't cut that out... what a disaster....

So after being thoroughly disgusted with that mess... I take a peek under the pipe...

What do I find????
