I rode Gomez Matrix years ago in the surf. I thought it was a lot of fun. Ski is more of a fast carving surf ski or good Rec riding ski. Not a flatwater ski

Curious. When people use the term "flat water". Do they mean just riding on flat water or do they mean being able to flip in flat water with no wake for help ?

Yeah, able to flip with its own power without a boat wake or suft wave. Setup wakes encouraged. Other aerial tricks too.
