Hrmm... I just saw on there that B stock is listed as Dark Gray, I always thought it was light gray. (or is that just a stock photo of light gray and this time it is actually dark gray??) Guess I'll be sticking with black then.

Yea Ive seen the smooth turf. Its pretty slick looking, but I'm not sure how functional it is? I currently have/had smooth purple on my side trays and groove down the tray. But I think after looking at some pictures and hearing it all out I'll be going back to diamond.

I like that groove brown at closeout, but I'm not so sure how well that will go with a Red and carbon theme. :kabong:

That brown would go good with the grips I just bought...

Oh thats sexy. I personally love brown. Especially in a Brown and satin black theme. If only those were the thicker rogues.

Can anyone confirm/deny the color of Bstock?

The stuff Ive always gotten looks to be light gray? Is that actually the color of the dark gray in the color section?

From the words of a Hydro Turf dealer

B Stock is grey molded diamond w/smaller diamonds than normal (not much smaller)
B stk is medium grey. Not dark, and not light, just plain ol grey.

Molded turf is much more tear resistant than cut turf

If you want dk grey, then get black

Waffle is cut, not molded and someone mentioned smaller sheets?-TRUE. Is all waffle is, is the grooved run thru the machine a 2nd time to make the waffle pattern and therefor they have to cut a 4" strip off of one edge to make it fit in the machine.

I have had just about every turf design there is and I have black molded diamond on my ski now for a reason. DURABILITY!!!

Welll..... my ski is actually pretty now, So thats it, I'll be going with black molded diamond.

Thanks for that info Gil. PS, check my thread.

I've got B stock in different shades of grey. I didn't think too much about it at the time. Every time I've ever ordered it I was just told grey....no specification on dark or light.

B stock is the grey stuff - no color added. It's actually what the turf is before it is dyed all the other colors.

Don't see too many ski with the waffle cut.... Not sure how it hold up though
I ran orange, black and silver waffle on my freestyle ski in 2009. Held up great. Molded is stronger, but the waffle held up just fine. Only problem was the orange faded a bit.

Alright, On a side note. what kind of padding? I know HT has like 2 major kinds, the white and grey/black. I know one crushes very easily and has bad memory. Which?

I may just go with the ol wal mart excersize/yoga mat though.... Ive always used that in all my previous skis and love it.

The white padding is very dense and heavy, does not break down. (not easily) The old gtey padding breaks down fairly quickly. HT is in the process of phasing out the grey. The downside of that, the grey cuts and shapes much easier. I highly recomend getting your padding from HT.

As for turf:

I think mosy have covered it. Molded is stronger and comes in black and grey only. all other designs are cut into a smooth sheet. If you ride bare foot, cut turf holds up well and is a little softer on the feet. If you ride with shoes, they eat up cut turf pretty quick (depending on riding style).

"B" stock is that, not primary sold turf. It has blemishes and slight color variations. I think HT only sells it in grey, however, I have stopped by there and got a sheet of black with blemishes. Maybe you can call and ask if they have any blemished black.

Yea, Ive always used B-stock before. I dont put the value in spending extra money just for some color, but this time it says dark gray, and I know B stock is whatever they :):):):) up. Figure it will vary from time to time.
