What kind of stroker is this?

Hello

I got myself a new motor, but I could really need som help to identify what it is. Its not stamped or writed anything on the sylinder or the bottom.

Heres some pics:

You need to measure what the stroke length and the bore size to see what size of motor it is. Take the rings off and put the cylinder back on. Then measure the stroke from TDC to BDC.

Looks like an older ADA cylinder and a hot rod crank and flat top pistons. But I don't know anything else. Also you need to measure the rod length to see what kinda stroker.

Ill leave a big I THINK because I have been wrong on things before...

Lets say that you are right, how does this engine performe compared to newer engines?
I will mesure the stroke tomorrow, I was told that it was a dasa sylinder, but I dont have a clue if its true or not.

looks like a 5 mill rad by the recess in the domes.take the carbs off and snap some pics through the intake into the crank, the cases look strange in the front, they are epoxied on top so prolly have nice case porting and maybe ramping as well, carbs are on backwards though

It's an older Lamey N/P cylinder. Are the cases "trenched" or machined in the center so that the rod will not hit the cases. If so then most likely +6mm or longer, if not then its
+5mm stroke or less. That engine has good potential. Some carb builders and tuners recommend that the diaphrams face away from the cylinder. Its not an absolute but preferable.

That's an older RAD crank. The stroke will be stamped on the web of the crank. as pictured below.

Yea I told you I wasn't sure.. But that is a rad crank I forgot.. I had a few of those but they are hard to find now.

I didn't know that older Lamey's were 5 port.

But about how the motor will run is dependent on who built it and how it is setup. A 1000 cc motor that is setup poorly will run like a stock motor.

Just a FYI those are Red Top carbs, similar but not exactly the same as blackjacks.

SICK motor BTW, you got the goods with that sucker! Was it a deal?

I had to buy a hole ski to get that engine, I hope its worth the trouble. If everything goes as planned, this engine will soon be in a rev hull.

Interesting, has mismatched cases (or the tops were painted). It is a 6mil, non pV lamey with minimal case porting. It is a GREAT starting point. That is similar to the motor I used to have in my blaster and with some case porting and the right cylinder work, woudl out pull 90% of the motors out there. Good crank, too. Don't make those anymore. I have RADS in all my skis. Carbs are fine, we run some of ours that way as well.

PS
One other thing, seeing that the cases have been trenched, do yourself a favor and flip it over and inspect the bottom. It 'should' be epoxied for added strength. SOmething you might want to consider since you have in mostly torn down.

I think the cases are matching, because they have the same inscription on the couplerside of the cases. The crank is rebuild right before I got the engine and bore is 82mm. Do anyone know what kind of volume I got when its 6mm stroker and 82mm bore?

One side of the bottom is welded(under the webs of the crank), but not both of them so I think thats just a repair from a older damage.
