I have a polished ac pole on my 750 and I was told that you want to clear coat it so it won't oxidize. DO I clear it with the same clear coat I used on the jet ski, or what??? Someone please help, it is all I need until I get her in the water. THanks

the problem with that is ...... well it's polished. That would mean it's real smooth. THere is nothing for the paint to stick to.........i THINK anadising is your best bet

Clear laquer paint. laquer is self etching paint. One coat will look great, but can be damaged. The more coats you put on the more durable it will be, BUT it will eventually begin to yellow from exposure to the elements.

Thank you guys very much. This handle pole is the only thing stopping me from getting the ski back together. So I guess the general vote is just polish her a couple times a year and thats it?

So is that the same as the clear coat (like automotive stuff) I used for the rest of the ski???

Thanks

Another ? guys. Do I want to put a new metal islet thing in the back of my foot tray since I put the new turf on? I was going to but I noticed some ski's don't have that. Any particular reason, and if so how do you strap it down on the trailer?

Thanks

I turfed over mine last season and didn't have any problems. Sure 2 small strips of fiberglass is probably better but if you don't have the materials already, it may not be worth it.
I never used that rear eyelet to hold my ski down. Just lay a strap over the tray and under the trailer. If you dont want your turf to have strap marks, just use 2 left over scrap pieces from the new or old turf and put it under the strap.
