whats it take to get a 701 in an octane?

i was thinking of buying a octane hull and i was wondering what all had to be switched over to get a 701 in it??

so it looks like all i need is some waterdawg kustoms bedplates? everything else lines up or did they switch pumps?

FYI, mine (above link) was built with Yam 701 motor mount plates installed (rare). It was built for a yam setup from Wamiltons. I used SJ bedplates and mounts - no mods required.

But... you could easily glass in your own mounts to make a polaris oem hull accept SJ motor mounts like mine is.

Why bother, save your pennies for a Polaris motor. They rip.

Yes they rip but the flywheel and crank are super-heavy... no "snap" like a 701 unless you lighten the crank and go total-loss

Just stick with a RN.....trust me...

I agree stick with the SJ and forget the boooolaris

A yamaha powered Octane hull (especially a light hull) is amazing. Its a whole other animal when you lighten it up and give it a responsive powerplant. :biggthumpup:
