He may have gotten higher scores if he had kept his ski...

Atleast it didn't sink this time!

well the two vids i've seen posted don't look good at all, but i've seen both riders perform way better. I'm going to bed they were expecting a flatwater comp and not a small surf comp...... :p

If I was a judge, I'd lower someone's score if I saw there ski cruising across the lake on it's own while the rider is bobbing in the water. Regardless of whether time had just expired or not. It's kinda funny, I'm not bashing the guy, he's got skills. His tricks did some good air.

What powerplant did Lucas have in the Sfreak?

Way to attack, Derrick.

There was some big BFs in practice. However, on the clock, nobody could hookup in the chop.

I actually just watched it again an was wondering the same thing. An he only rode out 5 tricks in over 3+ minutes, an lost his ski. I'd say he should be happy with the place he got, an the people complaining about the judging need an eye appointment.

Pretty sure he got 4th

He rode good and did some neat tricks.
That said, he didn't ride out of very many of them and the routine didn't flow very well.

That seems unfair. You should be judging from the time the clock starts until it stops, and not count anything outside of that time frame.

Maybe I missed it, at what point in the video did Alex do the Superflip?

The superflip is the first trick he attempts. I just watched the vid and when you see him do that first flip thing and then go 90 degrees into the water, his feet are out of the tray. It's not very clear it's a superflip, but I can't imagine what else it could've been unless he fell out of his holds upside down.

First trick at 0:56. The judges may of not scored him on it because it wasn't big and maybe the aspect to the judges made it hard for them to see it. I thought it was a one footer lander. However the announcer did call it from the stands.
