Yes, capitalists will develop the vaccine. Not Cuba, Venezuela, North Korea, Russia or China. Thank God you are lucky enough to live in a free market country.

And if China leaked the virus as a trade war bio-weapon, my guess is that they have no interest in selling any vaccine to us.
And, yes, this Bernie Sanders' Communism vs Capitalism corruption has me a little sensitive. So, let me just say it clearly to all. I like being paid for my labor, my products, and my creativity. My guess is that if I had to give it away, it would mean that it wasn't worth paying for.
Money is what Free Men use to express Gratitude to other Free Men in return for their valuable services, products and creativity including saving the lives of themselves, their spouses, their children and their parents.
If anyone is looking for some "valuable" reading during the stay in place order, may I suggest Ayn Rand's The Fountainhead, or her Atlas Shrugged. Both written in 1940's America after her family escaped from the Soviet Union where everything was "free" and everyone worked for "free" for the "good" of their fellowman which resulted in, what was in effect, an Economic Depression for the duration of the Soviet Union.

Michigan just announced a stay-home order in effect at 12am for at least 3 weeks
Man I am dreading what I walk into tomorrow. Knoxville issued a "safer at home " plan which is closing nonessential businesses. Unfortunately, covid is now community spread here now so that makes my job more difficult. Had to break down and shave my beard after 18 years so the n95 masks will seal properly. I am surprised by how people refuse to stay home or stay out of public places here.
I can be conservative and bash on idiots all I want, doesn't mean I'm not being responsible. I call my grandparents every day to make sure they're ok and am avoiding them. Don't get your panties in a wad because I was smart enough to have a "semi-auto" first.
I sense some butt-hurt.

It’s surprising that all the doctors working around infected patients are using n95 drywall masks rated at 95% filtration. I wouldn’t want to be near anyone with it, even with a full face 99.7% respirator. I know respirators don’t filter your exhale but even still those cheap masks seem almost useless. I wish the best to all the people in the medical field right now.
It’s also amazing how someone living in a third world dump, eating bats or who knows what, has caused this disaster which will likely send the whole world into a recession.
Also saw this the other day on fb, hospitals in Italy are running out of these little $11000 plastic valves used to help the patients breathe. They’re only supposed to last 8 hours. These guys made a 3D file of the design and are 3D printing them free for hospitals. I wonder how long before they get sued for patent infringement.

Yeah, I swear I read recently that they were suing that guy already. Just amazing that they were $11k in the first place, let alone suing someone in a crisis time like this. I think the rest of the story was that the manufacturer couldn't/wouldn't supply the replacements, which is why the dude 3D printed one in the first place.

Just to confirm that recent reports from Italy are totally incorrect, we were contacted at the end of last week for manufacturing details of a valve accessory but could not supply these due to medical manufacturing regulations, we have categorically not threatened to sue anyone involved. The valve is an accessory supplied as part of a CPAP Hood system which alone costs a few euros.
Our Italian company has been doing their utmost to supply the hospitals at this time and have been supplying these free of charge in many cases to use with the CPAP Hoods. It is very disappointing that in the current climate this incorrect information is circulating, our focus as a company is to be able to supply the hospitals that require these and many other vital products and we are making every effort to ensure we can do so.
