Hi all. I apologize for this noob move but... I've googled all day trying to find the info on what is required to be able to bore my 62t 96SJ o 84mm and run pump gas. Does anyone know where I am missing these conversations? Not sure why I can't find it because I've read it before.

basically I just want to bore to 84mm and use simple supporting mods. Not going totally crazy. Just want bottom end rip.

A stock 96 Superjet will have a 62T bottom end, 61X topend 701 motor. You can bore it to 84mm but it would be the very last bore (maybe one more) and the sleeves would be very thin.
It's not a very good way to get more power out of the motor. Since you're after more bottom end rip, spend that money on porting, a higher compression girdled head and maybe an ignition upgrade instead.

So you don't think that boring would help enough to warrant doing the job? I was worried that since I was on the border year of the engines, that I might have the 61x cylinders. Would an 83mm bore bring worthy gains?

i appreciate you setting me straight on the matter. I'm just planning on rebuilding the motor, carbs, replace prop and msd cdi before spring so I have a fresh build that I can somewhat rely on. I currently have a modded stock head that is running 190 compression, factory b pipe and riva flame arrestors

No I don't.

No 701 Superjet of any year has anything but the 61X cylinder. (One exception: French Rius Edition for a couple years)

Would an 83mm bore bring worthy gains?

Let me be more clear: I don't think any bore increase on a stock cylinder is worth the time and money. Get it ported, much better bang for the buck.

Ok. I'll start searching for more info on someone who can port for me and save the money for now. Thanks for the info and I'll just work on msd cdi, porting, prop, flywheel....

thanks for the help, now I know what to start REALLY looking for haha.
