Stroker question

Is it possible to stroke a stock 701 without touching the boresize?
What should be needed and what's involved?
Should it be worth the effort?

Thanks.

Yes... it can be done.

What size crank did you want to install?

No idea, I was just wondering if it is possible and what stuff I should need.
Cylinder mods? Spacer plate? Domes or head? Crank case mods?
A 10mm stroker gives about 800cc I think, why not?
Price difference between a 4/6/8/10mm crank?

Anything more than 4mm of stroke is a waste of time without re-sleeving for freeride/freestyle horsepower. If you going for top end OK maybe up to a 5mm stroke. Strict port mapping must be followed when building a stroker, so custom re-sleeving is a must with most engine stroker packages.

I hope freestylegeek is not reading this. He's running an 8mm stroke/81mm bore combo. He says he thinks it's making around 160 horsepower based on comparison to Paul's motors with claims of 180/190/210 horsepower. Interesting.

I am indeed reading this Charles, and I totally agree with Chuckie. Stroker's require a 'Package' approch when building them.

I think Chuckie was talking about stroking stock cylinders.
