And after 2 days in 100ft of water it was brought up, here is what was left, Yacht cost around 3 million, they were unloading off a freighter, didn't rope the slings together, bow sling slipped off, dropped about 60ft. Rear sling ripped all the running gear out of it on the way down.
Yacht was sold for scrap, this happened at a port in Dubai.

I haul boats on a tractor trailer and i ALWAYS make sure they tie the slings. They once dropped a sailboat on my trailer cause of that.

Now THAT'S carnage!!!! That sub pic should be sent in to some photo contests for sure.
Thanks for sharing!!

Edit: In the last pic, I like how they parked it next to the "Prevent Accidents" sign on the wall. Classic!

Paid for already, Yard insured, chump change for them, owner paid cash, new yacht on it's way, also in the there is another guy just forward with his arm hanging over the side...
This is a 55-Marquis Carver, 11th one made, My techs and I had Sea-trialed that yacht just before it left..
Has 2 1550 MTU's in it, total loss....
And people think yachting is boring..
Yacht went all the way to the bottom, bounced back up, then went down....
Deep arse nose stab.....
Yacht had over 250 thou. in electronics on it....
Both those guy's were okay, just had bruise's,and that night they were seen drinkin heavily!

Salvage owns it now, Engines are the size of a small car each, they came off the mounts, went through the bulkhead and ended up in the forward master V-berth.
Also, look in the second post, the Prop shafts still have the innards of the tranny's attached......
Ill get some inside and outside "before the sub" pics out.

Never a dull moment in Galati World...

Top of the pic, guy hanging on the transom door, (he could have used some footholds I'm sure), just double click on the image and it will blow up on your desktop screen, he shot forward but the salon door and his buddy slowed his decent..
Just below him is the arm of the second deckhand , that fender near his arm was in the cockpit, this pic was taken at impact...
Also look down towards the port mid deck companionway, that square hole needs a cover, cover is now a projectile in front of the windshield...
G-loading on a 60 ft., 31 ton yacht from 60 feet is most impressive...
The boat is Italian designed and has a "pointy" bow so it did help the transition from freefall to water intrusion rather well.
All the Flat screen pop-up tv's, pretty much all the galley, salon, 5 berth's mattresses, couches, 3 walk in shower units went forward and compressed into a compact mass.
The salvage yard had a bunch of guy's in the hull using axes, sawzall's, crow bars, you name it busting all that junk out of the hull...
