after that last thread which was for fun i wanted to a legitimate poll for the new rider lookin into getting a ski. the idea is from this post

There is a reason most people on here use the superjet as a starting point. You will find lots of people on kawis because thats what they have always been around. So its hard to get a good grasp of things from those people. This is what you should be asking. How many people have gone from a superjet to an sxi? How many people have gone from a sxi to a super jet?

You should also put some value on the fact that the super jet has lots of obsessed experts on this site. Most problems you are going to find have been seen by several people on here.

every time the argument arises its pretty much the same,as it was when i had an sxr and was starting to build it. eventually i tried a superjet and definitely saved myself a lot of money. everyone like different setups but for a newb with no experience and limited funds, what should they buy? seams a lot easier to sell the sj if they find out they like sxrs better.

EDIT:i know both would be the obvious, dont know why i put that as a option

I started and stayed with Superjets.
However, I have ridden just about every other standup out there, and can honestly say I like the SJ the best.

My list:
1. Superjet
2. Octane
3. SXR
4. 550
and down from here, with the 650SX at the very bottom.

I'm bass-ackwards and like a SN better than a RN
then sxr, 750sx, 550, 440 and 650sx at the bottom
never rode a 300 or octane (or HS for that matter)

I have a 750 and an 05 RN. I haven't rode my RN yet, but I have rode my buddies. I prefer the RN.

My list:

SJ
SXR- Real fun for carving
750- Great ski for the money
I haven't ridden anything else. I'd love to try an octane, and hopefully someone shows up at the lake with an x-2 this year.

They are narrow unstable and the pump makes them feel underpowered for having a 701. BUT they are super fun to ride. They pull hard from 1/8 throttle all the way to (WOW that is too fast for this little thing) Plus they can be rolled pretty easily.

But back on topic I had a 650 then switched to a 750 and a 01 SJ. I had decided that the kawasaki had it's place so I kept both. Then after about 3 years of the kawasaki not seeing the water I sold it...

i rode carls fx-1 with a 144 pump and i could stay on that damn thing. it was in some nasty chop, but i could not stop falling over. F' the FX I'll stick with my Roundie

I started with 650sx, then 550, then SXR, and since then 2 Roundies and a square.

I think a SJ is the easiest to own and has the best "jumpin bean" performance. I like fast Kawasakis on smooth water though. I do not understand the fascination with an FX1. Its like riding a mini 750sx, with a trashed pump.

i havent owend a sj before but i have ridden them . my frist ski i road was a 550 and 650 , the frist ski i owned was a x2 (still have it ) then 3 more x2,s a 750sx and then a gp800 . still have them all as well . my next ski will be a new modle x2

Got my first 650SX in 1990, then in 91 I bought a 90' Superjet. So you know what I voted for...lol
Would be cool to have a SXR for a buoy machine as there is a buoy course always set up at Body beach here..
