Single 44mm into Duals?

So, obviously it's really tough to find a set of used OEM dual 44mm carbs. However, I have a couple 44mm singles sitting around the shop.

Is there something about the dual 44's together that makes them special? Can you get linkage to set up two single 44mm as duals?

That depends....not all 44 SBN's are the same. There are various different SBN 44's out there, all with different fuel circuitry.
Give Paul a call, or maybe he'll chime in here.
There are precautions that need to be taken when combining singles into a set of doubles.

if you get the stock ones of a 701 yamaha
with 61x stamped on them
they will be the same
use them it will work ok

yes, they must (aka should) be a matched set...........down near the bottom there will be markings

61x
64u
etc...

some of them will just have random #'s...those are aftermarket mik's...

Jerry, that 44 of mine that you have is taper bored...I don't think you want to try and use that in a set...but Mike no longer needs the stock 44 of mine that he has..

You will have to change the throttle shaft on one of them also. It doesn't stick out of the stock carbs.

I have a set of Riva dual 44s on a 61x manifold if your interested.

The tuning headakes you will endure trying to tune mix matched carbs arnt worth it. Buy a new matched set & enjoy. you will thank yourself in the end!
