Just got my dual 44 Blackjacks on and tuned and I must say those are awesome carbs! Took only 20 minutes to tune.

Previously I had OEM dual 44s and those ran great, but WOW, what a difference in comparison! I highly recommend these.
They take water intrusion like its nobodies business. They never load up and hit off idle great! Very noticeable improvement.

Best money I ever spent. i'm really diggin it!

Art is the man. :notworthy:All hail Art and the BRAPJACK CARB:hail:

I am no guru at all but can rebuild, re-jet, and do pop-off adjustments to a carb/carbs and tune them as long as someone with the know how gives me the best starting point.
I dont know all what he does other than what I can see... He cuts the top half of the carb off and does his internal magic, then presses his special "bell horn" piece on(what I call it). The fuel comes out the 12 precision holes and has that expansion area machined into the horn just below the holes.

Also I noticed when cleaning the carbs and spraying through the jet holes that one also pumps fuel out where the old spray bar was. They have a primer fitting too. The old spray bar or bullseye, whatever you want to call it takes up 9% of the volume flowing through the carb and the atomization is incredible coming out of the 12 precise pinholes! They are a pretty unique carb IMO.

I was reading at the Jet Works site the other day, but I just checked and there site seems to be down right now. Good reading all about the BlakJack carb at www.jetworks.net

Also I would like to add that these were OEM 760 44 Mikunis to begin with before the BlackJack mod, not aftermarket Mikunis.
Art says it doesnt matter...

I went from regular 44's to single Novi 48 to oem 44's to taperbored regular 44's. The oem 44's were the worst of the 4 setups, just no punch, very smooth, but no real kick.

Well that may very well be the case of OEM carbs Jett..

I had my OEM 44s running great too, but the BJ's were so snappy and with the TL and Blackjacks no water intrusion hiccuping off bottom end... my motor eats water and doesnt stop even with the flame arrestors off! hahaha

I'd like to try a set some day also, but $$$/priorities means I probably won't unless I charge $5/post to everyone. (that's a joke people!)

I like the taperbored set I'm running now, was a very noticeable improvement over the oem 44's I had, and almost as smooth as the single Novi I ran.

Do you like the dual taperbored 44's better than the single 48?

Bumping this 6 month old thread:

FYI about BlackJack carbs - I was talking to Art yesterday and he can and has made Blackjacks out of Buckshots and Lamey racing carbs before.
Just a thought if you have racing carbs or can pick some up cheap.

Creative RE Purchasing
i ran my single BJ 46 on my stock engine it was great even with a set of worn out reeds.

Will be running the same carb on my Jetworks ported cylinder. Hopefully to be assembling this weekend or next.

I was talking to Art a couple weeks ago and he said to keep an eye out for a 38mm carb modification he'll be doing... Very affordable alternative to purchasing a new set of carbs and new intake manifold. Testing has shown that they are responding very very well. More designed with freestyle/freeride in mind compared to the BJ that was developed during the racing days.

Very interested...my 38's rip but I need them rebuilt someday if I am keeping them and that sounds like a good reason right there.
