Can anyone tell me what size/type the bushings are for the Bendix in the Yamaha 650/701/760 engines? (It's for a 62T specifically if they happen to be different from year to year). I'm assuming they are a generic off the shelf bushing, nothing really special or special order from Yamaha?

ID = ##"
OD = ##"
Length = ##"

Also let me know if anyone else wants and I can get extras if needed.

It's not always about the money. I haven't had the luxury of living close to a watercraft dealer in well....ever!! so if I can source out aftermarket or get from work i do.

For instance; 2 summers ago, a dealer charged me $75 for 2 seals and 2 bearings for my midshaft housing plus a $35 custom order fee, just because the ones I ordered (from a reputable site) online didn't show up in time, (ordered over 1 month in advance too). Once I had them in hand and could get part #'s I found over 50 bearings in stock at work(@ $6.35 each) and I can get the seals from my distributor cheap, ($1.35 each).

I ended up dragging my ski over 1000 miles, "hoping" parts would show during my vacation and I could actually finish putting it together and ride.

You guys who work at or live close to dealers are spoiled and should know how lucky you really are. The rest of us get real good at improvising, scrounging and paying through the teeth.

I don't live close to dealers.
I order all my stuff online.

Why is it that we are told to think outside the box but everytime we do, there is someone there trying to stuff us back in?

Thanks for the advice Matt, If I come up short I will order them, how is that?

If you can get the seals from a distributor, at any good price you need to let us know who this distributor is. I took the seals out of (3) different midshaft and took them to some of the best bearing/seal places around houston. They could not even come close to the multi sealing areas each seal has.
And at 1.35 each I bet thats a single lip seal.

Thanks :bigok:

Are they pressed in? If so then you have to pull the motor? What about putting a sleave on the bendix shaft that goes into the case? I can't get them to line up properly and I'm starting to get frustrated...!
