is it possible to get long studs instead of the case bolts and head girdle bolts?

ive got a girdle head, and NO hardware.

im trying to figure out how to get this stuff without breaking the bank.

long studs would also make assembly a WHOLE lot easier I think.

any ideas?

advice?

Thanks in advance!

I've seen it done before. I think that's what magoo does if I understand you correctly.

Now, if someone just knows that thread Diameter and Pitch, Ill price the studs locally or from Mcmaster Carr, or Grainger.

I can remove one later and find the thread/pitch, but I figured someone might know.

also, hardened stainless?

or what I wonder.

mcmaster carr doesnt show them in stainless ( long enough)

local supply shop only has 300 series threaded rod.

Might be cheaper to order the $69 kit from atjetsports, or the $75 from ADA.

need to check Grainger and a few others.

also, Im guessing the length is 11 inches or so?

280-300mm

am I way long there?

I will call Paul and ask him, if I buy id rather buy from him.

I can get some threaded rod locally ( stainless), but I guess that would be pretty hooptyfied wouldnt it?

wax,

1.5 or 1.25?

Ill see what I can find, maybe we can get a QTY price break on the studs.

assuming I can FIND them somewhere.

I could probably have them made locally, I ised to make threaded stainless rods at a shop I worked at, but larger, and SAE not metric.

Get only S.S. studs from ADA. As I went through a ton of them until they got them right, not stretching and not breaking at the edge where the threads stop. They have a lot more expense in materials now. I can torque them even up to 45 ft-lbs and no worrys with any compression ratio I want.

thats something I wondered about, ltos of different grades of stainless, and most dont make fasteners worth a damn.

any idea what the alloy of the ADA studs is?
