Titanium Trim Ring

So I have this highbred XS1000 in our (55lb carbon hull) with MSD Total Loss, Powerfactor Pipe, 148 Skat-Trak Mag with a giant prop. (my 2k10 comp ski)
Well its a mothertrucker to pull the trim under those conditions ;)
so I had the crazy idea to build myself a Ti trimring, wondering how much of a difference it'd make And
Holy Crap !!! its unreal. now pulling the trim on the pumpkin is almost as easy as pulling the throttle.
Definitely less stress on the cable and
while I was at it I changed some geometry, and were gonna get more throw (just for bragging rights) cause the less trim used, the higher you go.
Well the moral of the story is there will be a Titanium XMetal Trim System available real soon!!!
and NO its not going to be expensive. Actually it'll Still be the most effective least expensive trim available :)

No need for pics cause it looks just like the Stainless Steel one, just not as shiny http://www.xmetalworks.com/products/xmetal+trim+system/45

the weight is half , and at this point its all I've changed.
It made a Huge difference. It actually pulls easier than the pully system wammer made.
The geometry isn't going to change how easy it pulls, it'll just pull more if you want it.

Let me start off by saying this, who don't want unobtanium parts for their ski (carbon, ti, billet, composite) and we all know Pat builds really good stuff,

How does a different material trim ring make it easier to pull? Isn't it the 'less throw' that you mentioned what actually made it easier to pull? You said less trim
makes you go higher-right? Now when you change the geometry for more throw then the pull should become a little harder in proportion to the more throw. And as far as cable stress goes-less throw equals less cable stress-right?

(Stanton) to make it out of aluminum it needs to be (at least) double the thickness to equal the strength which limits some possibilities.
I cut the weight in half (1lb), without losing strength, and its compact.
the weight doesn't sound like much but as I said It made an unbelievable difference.

(gil) the geometry change will only allow it to trim more, which has no effect on how hard it is to pull
because it can be adjusted to the extreme, doesn't mean I do. and yes I tested it with max throw.

(Matt) I thought the same thing about pump pressure, but I (we were) wrong :)

And yes WFO, it is magical :)

Gotcha! Thank u for the explanation. I halfass understand motors, ign, carbs, and don't understand jet pumps one bit. The ONLY reason my pump works well is dumb luck. You would think the pump would be the easiest part to figure out, but as we all know I like learning things the hard way. LOL

OT a lil, in the world of MX Ti is used ALOT for weight savings and strength. I have often wondered why it wasn't used more in high dollar freestyle skis.

Just throwing this out there as I don't know how deep you guys went into the design... Titanium has roughly half the stiffness of steel. If you did a full on design of the steel system and just took the steel design and used titanium, the trim may be easier to pull because the titanium is bending under load instead of actually getting your full trim throw.

thanks for your concern but, were not winging it here
No sings of deformation, and I landed some Roll - 180 - tripple flips with it today. So I like even more now :)
